Andrew Symonds dies in Car Crash

Former Australian cricket star Andrew Symonds has died in a car accident.

Police released a statement saying they were investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash in Hervey Range, around 50 kilometres from Townsville, last night.

RIP, only 46 years old.

The player who *nearly* brought me back to cricket.

It dominated my childhood (well, the summers).
I played first grade.
I haven't watched a single ball outside of the occasional T20 half-innings in 20-years.

Symonds attitude was so throwback - bat, bowl (and bowl 'whatever' - fast, slow, spin) and pride in his fielding - just reminded me of years past before there were rotation policies, blokes batting for not-outs and different teams for different styles of the game...

Can't believe it.

It's super sad.

I read this article yesterday and recall how much of a shit show the situation was and how badly he and his team mates were treated by CA due to the BCCI.
