    Sporting teams you follow

So, we're all part of the Tricolour... But who else do you follow?

The NBA is my next biggest interest, but I'd like to get I to the NBL or A-League. NBL options are obviously limited, A-League I lean towards Western United if I were to pick a team given I have links to the west/Tarneit and Geelong where they play games.

I loved the EPL prior to the switch to Optus sport. Then I got married, had a daughter, lost time and thereby interest. Followed Man City prior to them blowing up into what they are now.

Who do you follow, both in other sports within Australia, and outside?

In approximate order of interest (it varies)

NBA - San Antonio Spurs - was a big Tim Duncan fan
      EPL - Man Utd
      NHL - Montreal Canadiens
NFL - New England Patriots - Bradys first superbowl got me hooked
MLB - Chicago Cubs - The Bulldogs links did it. Same colours and tragic history. Crazy they both broke the drought a month apart.

EPL - Newcastle United, I'm pretty much into it as much or more than the AFL.
NBA - Not a huge fan of American sports, too much razzle dazzle and time outs for me. Hence Toronto Raptors. Luckily we still have Kawhi Leonard and Kyle Lowry otherwise I'd be off them.
A League - Victory, been a member for 11 years go to most home games with a couple of mates. Really enjoy it. Take an interest in WU but when they moved to Essendon it stopped.

Be great if Fox Sports get the rights back in the future.

For those that are members/regularly attend A-League, how's the atmosphere/overall member experience at the games AND away vs supporting the Dogs?

Love him. Hopefully he can stay on the park. Was great to see him score on the weekend and what a game it was in front of a great crowd and the atmosphere was coming through the TV.

When it's pumping there's nothing else like it.

The GF at AAMI park in 2015 was probably the best crowd experience I've had.

It's been off the boil a bit lately due to covid and Victory being crap but hopefully it starts to pick up again.

There's never any trouble that I see (there used to be) and there are loads of families and kids.

Basically at it's peak there's no better sporting crowd experience in my opinion. The peak is a few years past though atm.

When Fox Sports had the EPL rights, you could watch the A-League and when it finished the EPL was on. All on the one service and with commentators across both games. It definitely help build the game. I took a keen interest in the EPL when it was on Foxtel. Even though I have Optus Sports, I don't ever watch EPL games now. I don't really have a team (supported Everton when Timmy was playing) and mostly follow the Serie A and the fortunes of AC Milan.

But to watch football in this country.

EPL, La Liga = Optus Sport
Serie A, Ligue 1, English Championship = Foxtel
                          Champions League = Stan
A League, FA Cup = Paramount

                          It is an absolute mess.

I would agree with all of this. When AAMI is full and its pumping it's a great atmosphere. However, there were a number of years when the active supporters were in a stand off with the club and basically did not sit behind the goals or really actively support. The atmosphere for those years wasn't anywhere near what it used to be. Thankfully they have resolved their differences and it is now back to where it was.

Also second the families part. I sit on the centre wing, heaps of families. I have been taking my son for 10+ years (he is now 16) and we have never had any trouble. Actually, compared to say sitting in the outer at the MCG when playing say Collingwood or Richmond, the A-League is way more child friendly.

However the A-League still has plenty of ground to make up compared to overseas. This was on the weekend. AC Milan home at the San Siro against Juventus. Have a look at the Tifosi in full flight. Amazing. https://twitter.com/IFTVofficial/sta...3bjugvpT0DnjSQ
