    Why I love sport

I am not a Philistine. I appreciate art, music of all types and genrès (well mostly all!), literature and the performing arts.

However, I have a certain amount of disdain for those who look down their noses at sport as a worthwhile pastime.

Anyone who is not moved by what you are about to see has no soul.

The singer and songwriter is Dafydd Iwan. The title of the song is "We're Still Here." It tells the story of the subjugation of the Welsh by the English. This performance was at Cardiff Arms Park prior to the kick-off in the World Cup Qualifier between Wales and Austria. Wales has qualified and has been drawn in the same group as England.

The chorus is: "Despite everyone and everything, we're still here!"

    Enjoy.

Here's a version with the English translation.

Speaking of the Welsh I reckon it's ironic that when Henry V was the Prince Hal and fighting the Welsh he cops a cross bow bolt in the face that nearly kills him. It's miraculously extracted by a genius surgeon and his life is saved

But then when he's Henry V and he takes an army to France and gets cornered by a much larger French army at Agincourt the people who save his bacon were his Welsh longbow men.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.
