    Ufc 284

Can Volk be the double champ tomorrow?
But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

It's a big ask but he really knows how to prepare for an opponent. I think he loses this one.

He's tough as nails and will have a different feel for Mak but the same applies for Volk. A big Dagestani is next level in so many different ways. Mak will win via a crotch sniff in the second.

Alls I know is you’ll never get Volk by decision at $6.50 again.

I really admire his journey to the top. If he gets this win it will be massive for him.

A win here will put him front and centre in the GOAT discussion.

Not even close from my perspective. It would be an outstanding result but he is a long way back in that conversation.

Not even close? Who you got?

Jones is a one division winner and while he has the most title defences he's a drug cheat.

Silva would have to be up there in terms of title defenses but he really fell of a cliff at the end of his career. Also a one division winner.

GSP is another one division winner but he came back later and won the title in a different division. Great title defence run as well.

Of the fighters who held belts in two divisions at the same time Connor never defended one successfuly, DC lost his as quickly as he won them, and has a very good W/L record but not such a great streak generally. Henry Cejuno doesn't have as many wins or as long a streak as Volk and Khabib was only 13/0 in the ufc and only three title defenses.

If you consider most title defenses to be the penultimate guide I guess it's Demetrius Johnson, with 11.

Volk has a 12 run winning streak, beat Islam and he's up there with Khabib and GSP with those numbers. He'd also be only the 5th fighter in ufc history to simultaneously hold two belts in two divisions and he'd have the best record of any of those fighters.

I think if he beats Islam he enters the conversation. I only asked because quite a few MMA stars have been asking the same question.

I don't place a lot of value in winning at multiple weights although at least the weight differences between divisions is spaced out better than boxing making them more relevant.
Jones and Khabib should not be ruled out because they essentially stuck in one division. GSP was outstanding but Mighty Mouse might even have them all covered.
I can't compare Volk to those guys yet although 3 more wins might change that.

Yeah I love Volk but he’s miles off GSP Anderson and Fedor in the GOAT discussion.

Shame for Volk to lose by a decision. Tremendous effort from him and I think he was very unlucky to lose. I had it 2 rounds each and a split on another.

Yeah feel the same. The 49-46 score was a head scratcher. Still I thought Islam controlled the fight on the ground for longer periods even though he was largely ineffective and while Volk did more damage if you want to take a title off a champion you can't leave it in the hands of the judges.

I though Maddalena was very impressive.
