He bowled some good balls last night and has been super dangerous today.

    Just rewarded with a wicket.

    and another.

I think the Indian's are trying to snub Ponting by refusing to walk when the are obviously out. Hit straight to Watson and Tendulkar waits for the umpire. Sehwag did the same.

Cameron White bowled his first over in test cricket, last over before lunch. Will be great if he can get some wickets.

Far better spell today than yesterday although that wicket of Sehwag was a gift because it was a very poor delivery. His wicket of Tendulkar was a smart piece of bowling.
Did we make an error not having a bowling all rounder like Noffke in the side?
We only have 3 strike bowlers and they could tire quickly even with the support from Watson and White. A genuine 4th paceman might have been very handy today.

White looks a better test bowler than first class bowler. Looks promising.

Nice to see Watson get that ball reversing as well.

Just read your previous post about the Queensland game and Noffke seems to be in good touch, but I think the selectors have got the team balance right for this series.

I think with the volatility of the Indian pitches particularly the way that Dehli and Nagpur 'plate up' around day four of the tests, Watson will come to the fore ...

But I reserve my judgement about White ... I think he is an exceptional one day cricketer; I don't think his bowling is up to scratch to be the 'specialist' spinner against India

Clearly he's not, but there is no alternative. Ideally we would have 3 quicks and a top line spinner and use White as the second spinner batting at 6.

If I'd been told Lee and Clarke took one wicket between them in the 1st innings I'd have asked how many they declared for.

Great to see others take some wickets

We were still one strike bowler short though and that was probably the reason why we couldn't clean up the tail. Sunshine's idea of playing someone like Noffke might have been the difference.

It's getting very tight at the moment and we need either Watson or Haddin or both to make a 50. I'd like to see Watson get some good runs because he bowled pretty well and it would top off his effort.

8 overs to go. I hope I am not putting the mozz on them, but if these two are still at the crease at the end of the day we will be in a solid position.

Whilst the pitches are still in good condition, the batsmen will reign ... If we bowl at some stage tomorrow, this will be the big tester for our bowling stock.

I think the balance of bowlers is right for this series

Well they got through the last batch of overs and we are now in a solid position.

We've got Watson instead of Symonds so I'd say the pace linup is complete.

Add a competent spinner to the mix and we're set.

Agreed but we simply haven't got that spinner. Essentially we went into the game with just 3 strike bowlers and 2 batting all rounders. Watson did better with the ball but I think a 4th pace bowler might have clean up their tail quicker. How strange would it have been having 4 quicks and Watson on the Indian pitches?
