Words just don't do this justice.

I saw that on the TV yesterday. It seems he kicked it with his left foot when he was trying to kick it with his right.

Lucky he's Scottish and not South American...

If ever the saying "Epic Fail" was called for, its right here. That's extraordinarily awful.

It was hit in with a bit of pace and took a bad bounce right at the end, so while players at that level should put it away, sportspeople are still human -- I've seen Federer airswing, Tiger miss routine 3 foot putts, and Michael Jordan put up airballs under no pressure, heck, even AFL footballers miss set shots from 10 metres directly in front under less pressure than Chris was under.

I think AFL players regularly missing routine set-shots are worse than that miss.

Chris missed a far bigger target from far closer, with no-one standing in front of him, which is somewhat ironic given that there should have been a keeper there.

Sorry, but Malcolm Blight is the only person who comes even close to matching this one.

Proud to call him a Wolves man and that was the work of a Wolves man if ever I've seen one
He has scored 8 goals from 6 games in the Championship this season though to help not paint him as completely hopeless.

              Cameron Ling says hi.

PS. Bobby Murphy's effort in the NAB cup comes close but he gets away with it because it was a Mickey Mouse game rather than a real one.

Oh, I've seen worse soccer misses. All I'm saying is that the cross was driven in pretty hard so there's some mitigating circumstances. I'll see if I can find some of those misses I've seen in those blooper type reels -- there's this one in Argentina where this guy dispossesses the keeper at the halfway line, runs all the way to the goal, and trips and misses from 5 metres out. The ball actually nearly hits the corner flag. It's hilarious.

There's another one, possibly from South America, the striker beats the keeper, dribbles to the middle of the 6 yard box, has a full blooded strike, and....

                  Hits the bar.

                  Piss funny.

Just as a follow-up to this for those with any interest (ie me), Iwelumo was voted the player of the month for November in the Championship after scoring 6 goals in 6 games. Kind of makes the miss all the more incongruous although it was his international debut so he could blame it on nerves I guess.

In the '80s Australia played Scotland at Olympic park. One of the Socceroos-he had a Middle Eastern/Arabic name that we could never remember so we just used to call him 'Jack'-missed a very similiar one. Goalie on the other side of the net, no defender near him and the ball rolled to his feet about 2 metres out. All he had to do was touch it and it would have gone in but the ball sort of bobbled aas it hit his boot and it went over the touchline. My mate said "that was a harder shot to miss with than to score with-**** him for doing the hard thing"

                      Jack Odjasomething is was.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.
