    3rd Test - India v Australia

    6/515 - Tea on Day 2

    Getting slapped silly.

How can your frontline spinner bowl just 13 overs out of 142? If it was India who had bowled 140 overs Kumble would have bowled over 40.

There is a huge gulf in class between both team's best spinners, infact India probably have half a dozen spinners better than the best we have.

Makes you realise just how good Warnie was.

I have been warning about playing test cricket with just 3 strike bowlers supported by batting all-rounders but the selectors just seem to have lost more faith in Krejza than they have with White. Unless White is playing as the number 6 and the 2nd spinner he just shouldn't be considered for test cricket. I'd prefer us to have simply played Krejza.

The assumption here is that Krejza is a test class spinner. He's not, he's shit too.

I agree White is a number 6 who bowls a bit of googly spin.

It's a bit like Shaggy playing as the no 1 or 2 tall defender, he wasn't up to it, but as the 3rd defender he's right at home.

Unfortunately we don't have a no 1 spinner.

But Krejza hasn't even been tried and is far more likely to grab 3 for (plenty) than White. I don't think playing White as the number 8 and very much a part time bowler does his confidence any good and it certainly doesn't help the side. At least Krejza is a spin bowler and far more likely to hold that spot than White.

In playing White we have become the equal of South Africa and England (circa 2006 Ashes).

We would prefer to play a less threatening spinner with some fielding and batting skills that take a risk with a spinner who could be a potential threat. It's a defensive move and it doesn't pay off

Not far from the truth with this.

The selector's have tried to play it safe and it's back-firing. Unless we take a heap ( 3 or 4) of early wickets with a newish ball we are never going to bowl India out for anything less than 400. When you have to do this twice (bowl them out) to win a Test match, well we are no chance.

Picking a team with so much 'supposed' batting depth means we are really trying to pick a team that won't lose.

The Aussies are batting well at the moment but would need to get through this session with only losing a wicket or so to have a chance of setting up a drawn result.

                  She's a pretty flat deck.

I reckon Warnie and Pidgeon at their peak would stuggle to bowl out Gelibrand B turf on this wicket.

Especially with SS and KT31 in the top order!

                    Hurts that Sehwag took 3.

The pitch makes Junction Oval look like a minefield. Not concerned by the Indian first innings total as most sides would have done something similar. I am concerned by how poorly we bowled.

I agree that White is not the answer but he is better than the alternative. The fact that he bats ok should not count against him. Our quicks have been the main problem.

And me firming up the lower order!
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.
