Last night v NZ, his gloves knocked the bails off and the NZ player was given out bowled. In my opinion Haddin knew what he had done, but didn't say anything.

I dont. I just think he's a lousy keeper who has very little feel for what he's doing.

I dont reckon A/ his gloves touched the bails before the ball or B/ he even realised that his gloves had touched the bails.

It should havce been called a no ball though, but that's the umpire's bad call. They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

I think it hit the bails first and the ball broke the bails. I think it' indicative of poor keeping as opposed to poor sportsmanship.Rocket Science: the epitaph for the Beveridge era - whenever it ends - reading 'Here lies a team that could beat anyone on its day, but seldom did when it mattered most'. 15/7/2023Comment

 Re: Did Haddin Cheat?

Extremely harsh. Our side does nothing other teams dont do. Its the players job to play to win and let the umpires adjudicate.

People get into our players about anything they can find and thats what is starting to wear thin. Its actually half the reason we are falling away IMO. The players are walking on egg shells and have lost that killer instinct. I want to see the aussies give it to Vettori on Friday as much as I like the man. Lets see some passion from our guys again.Comment

 Re: Did Haddin Cheat?

It definatly was a no ball, a keeper cannot take the ball in front of the stumps, so if it was a case of going for a stumping, and his gloves were in front of the stumps then whipped the bails off, not out.I dont. I just think he's a lousy keeper who has very little feel for what he's doing.

Can't really say it was an umps bad call though, would have been impossible for the central umpire to see, the square leg ump may have seen the gloves come forward, but once again, extremely hard to see what happened.

It was just a weird dismissal, an extreme rare case, perhaps the 3rd ump could have come into play, but, by the time it was noticed, the play had already continued, was just bad luck.Comment

You've just dismissed me as a tall poppy guy. Thanks!

The "Tall Poppy syndrome" was never around when Waugh was captain or even Mark Taylor. Those were pretty successful eras of cricket for the Australian Cricket Team. If it was "Tall Poppy" you would think some backlash would have happened back then right?Comment

 Re: Did Haddin Cheat?

Not really attacking you its mainly the media. It was not as prevalent during those other era's but our sides were still heavily criticised for things like sledging. The media has made our guys afraid to cough and its cost us a psychological edge we once had. You've just dismissed me as a tall poppy guy. Thanks!

 Re: Did Haddin Cheat?

Do you know that for a fact?

Whilst i'm not a keeper, i have kept in a few games before, something similar happened to me [probably dues to the fact that wasn't a real keeper], and you really don't know what happens, it's all spilt second, its like catching a ball that may or may not have touched the ground as you caught it, as much as it might show clearly on a slow mo replay, you just don't have a clue either way.Comment
