    Henriques in Australian side

Henriques chosen for the 20/20 game against NZ on sunday

Hope the announcement doesn't upset his rhythm whilst playing for the NSW 2nd XI against Vic 2nd XI today ?????????

It's interesting. His last ODI figures are 3/29 but that was in December (hasn't been dropped. There haven't been any matches since)

Bowling figures of 8 wickets from 7 matches. Average just below 30. Economy of 5.3

      77 runs at 12.83.

      It's only a 20/20 however.

Clearly he has been selected on potential not on form but given that it is just T20 then why not? I'll be the first to admit that I opposed Warners selection because he hadn't even represented his state in the 4 day game but at least Henriques has been floating around the system for a couple of years and represented Australia as a junior cricketer

I am on the next flight to Sydney.

My dream of playing for Australia isn't over after all.

Nah best to stay in Victoria. If you can bat or wicketkeep there is plenty of spots in the side.

Didn't Warner actually play under 19's for Australia? I could be wrong.

Only seen this Henriques kid once or twice on tv, deson't strike me as someone ready to take the next step, very interesting decision to name him in the squad.

                Indeed he did.

Regarding Henriques, I think its a good move by Cricket Australia.

Even though strong arguments could be made against him being picked with relative ease, at the end of the day its just a Twenty20, which, whether we admit it or not, we all know don't really matter. The experience will be beyond in valuable to Moises, who will at some point be a regular fixture in the Aussie team.

Yes but he hasn't played the 4 day game yet for NSW where Henriques has.

I think I have seen him 4 times this year and typically he either bats OK and bowls poorly or vice-a-versa. Very hard at his age to put it all together and he has also had a couple of injury worries. He has played a couple of other times this season just as a batsman because his back was playing up.

I think his bowling is more advanced than his batting at this stage which makes sense because as a batsman he only get's one shot

And it's not the first time a young player has been picked purely on potential. Shane Warne had played only a handful of games with a bowling average close to 50. I'm not suggesting Henriques is our next cricketing prodigy, but there are many who think he possesses the attributes of a future long term Australian player.
                      I don't mind the selection, especially given it's just a 20/20

Quiney was picked too. Very inexperienced side for this match

Didn't get much of a go.

run out and didn't get a bowl

I wouldve liked to have seen him bowl saying that though the guys who did bowl performed brilliantly but it wouldve been good to give him a taste. Cant really blame him for the runout either, looked 4 for all money but was just caught ball watching a bit. Hopes really shouldve called him through there.

He's in the side for his cordial blending.
