    Vics vs NSW Shield game

The Vics missing a number of players to the National side have pulled a few surprises for this game. They have gone in with just 4 specialist batsman and 5 quick bowlers leaving the spinner Holland as the 12th man.

    Rogers
    Jewell
    Hodge
    Mash
    Crosthwaite
    Wade
    Hastings
    McKay
    Wight
    Harwood
    Nannes
    Holland (12th man)

NSW have done OK in the first session losing just one wicket (Jaques) for 75.

Good to see Jaques get past 20. Also Cullen Bailey has 4/66.

29 will probably be enough for the selectors to pencil him in for England already.

      NSW 3/96

Greg Mail is playing his once-every-two-years innings, currently 48no.

Vics missing Hussey, White, McDonald, Quiney, McGain & Siddle but at least we'll be getting White and Hussey back.

NSW missing Hughes, Katich, Clarke, Haddin and Bracken. Henriques as well, assuming he would have gotten a game. Lee and Clark are injured.

I didn't know who the NSW wicketkeeper was.

        P. Nevill was the only guy I didn't recognise so I assumed it was him and looked up his profile.

        Nevill, Peter
        Born: October 13, 1985
        Club: Melbourne
        Right-hand bat
        Wicket-keeper
        Height: 182cm Weight: 89kg
        First-class debut: –

        Club: Melbourne.

        WTF?

He was the Vics third choice keeper last year, but moved states at the start of this season to be, essentially, NSW's backup. The profile must not have been updated recently.

Haven't seen much of him, but he surely couldn't be worse than Smith.

Yep, Neville moved up there a while back. If only he had known that being 2nd or 3rd in line for the keepers job could have still gotten him a game this year

We're already playing two keepers, how many do you want?

                NSW 5/178

Vics a bowler down, Shane Harwood strained a pec muscle.

No reason why we could squeeze a few more in
The keeper from Carlton goes OK

Re: Vics vs NSW Shield game

NSW all out 227 at stumps day 1.

Good day in the office for the Vics.

Victoria are currently 12 points ahead of Qld with two games to play after this weekend.

Qld have already gifted 1st innings points to SA and in return, SA have set them a very generous target of 332 to win with a full day to play. Qld 0/3 at stumps.

If Qld don't get the runs tomorrow (in reality they should), the Vics are 228 runs away from a home final.

McKay must have bowled well. They could hardly score of him.

It had been 3 weeks since a Bushrangers bowler had been injured so I suppose we were due.

Now all we need is for SA to do the business against the cane toads.
