You would go along way to see a better catch than the one Adam Voges took tonight in the T20 v NZ.
With 12 balls remaining & 7 wickets in hand NZ looked favourites to win, particularly with 2 batsmen who were set.
Hilfenhaus bowled the first ball of the 19th over to Brendan McCullum who launced it to deep long on. It looked for all money as if it was going to be a 6, which would have meant 14 to win of 11 balls.
Adam Voges caught the ball about half a step inside the boundary, but began to lose his balance & topple over the rope. Sensing what was happening to him he had the presence of mind to toss the ball in the air in the field of play fractionally before his balance took him outside the rope.
Whilst the ball was in the air, he regained his balance & proceeded forward, only to stand on the padding around the rope & fall over. Keeping his eyes on the ball whilst on hands & knees he desperately crawled forward & completed the catch.
Only one word needed to describe it; brilliant!
I'm sure it will be up on you tube soon.
