    Shield, Tas v Vics

Just keeping an eye on the scores and the Vics are giving the ball a good slapping, 3/271, Rogers and Jewell both got 80s, Hodge is in his 50s and Hussey made 44, sadly 2 wickets were run outs.

        Re: Shield, Tas v Vics

See the Vics have already stitched up the home final, who do you think they'll play?

Mathematically everyone else is still in the hunt - even SA

        The current table is

        Vics 40
        Tas 24
        Qld 22
        WA 20
        NSW 16
        SA 14

Tassie look like they will struggle to take 6 pts off the Vics, will they turn it into a one innings match and go for 2 points, or declare behind and see if White sets them a realistic target?

Queensland look well placed having NSW 9/266 at stumps. NSW season could be over if they bowl poorly tomorrow.

SA have had a good day v WA. With 40 over still to be bowled (they'll finish at 8 o'clock at the current over-rate), WA are 7/166.

          SS,

Are the games being played at present the final ones for the season?

If not who plays who in the remaining games?

It looks like QLD & SA have their games wrapped up.

Vics have lost 5/59 in their 2nd dig but with a day to play still lead by nearly 300. I still doubt Tassie will get the points.

                    The table will be:

Vics 40 (46 if Tassie crumble chasing)
                    QLD 28
TAS 24 (30 if they can pull off a miracle)

                    WA 20
                    SA 20
                    NSW 16

WA, SA & NSW are done with.

Game has been called off with Tas at 5/155, surprises me as i still think there was an hour to go and 5 wickets isnt a hard task to get in an hour being the tail.
                      Vics 2 points.

                        Vics 2 points.
And winning this game would have helped Victoria how?

Does Pattinson bowling just 1 over in the 2nd innings mean he is injured? Will we have any fit bowlers for the shield final?

                          Re: Shield, Tas v Vics

Good point, i thought of that but what about the paying public, they came for a days play and the teams have a responsibillty to play for the whole day if the game isnt over i believe.
How about with 1 quarter to go in AFL and the 2 teams know where they are going to finish no matter what, they call off the last quarter because it doesnt matter?
Where do you draw the line? you dont draw a line, the game gets played in its entirity because thats how it is.
My understanding is if a result can be possible you play, Victoria could still have won it.
I know how cricket works and calling games off but that seemed a little premature especially when the 2 batsman werent at the creae that long.

Sadly injuries are a problem with any sport, how many times do you see it, our biggest problem is our yips in the last few finals.
