    NRL - State of Origin

    Anyone watch this each year?

I reckon the concept is terrific as the players know if they perform well at this level, higher honours await.

Who do you follow & why?

I've always followed Queensland, loved Wally Lewis, Mal Meninga & Alfie Langer.

I'm going for the 1st team this year. Just leaving now, i hope it's a decent spectacle.

I think i'll follow NSW. The better of two evils...

I'd rather no Storm players were picked.

All those endless replays & I don't think anyone could be convinced they got it right.

Was a disgraceful decision to not give the Hayne try.

The question is: Will the NSW origin selectors give Gidley another game to redeem himself or will he get dropped?

Who would he be replaced by?

You'd think they would stick with their skipper. Apart from the last 6 or 7 minutes I thought he was terrific.

If I was NSW I wouldn't look to panic too much.

                  Game 2:

                  New South Wales - 14
                  Queensland - 24

Gee, lots of ball coughed up tonight, particularly by the Blues in the first half.

At one stage it was 18-0 & looked like a cricket score was going to be run up. Just prior to half time NSW got back into it with 10 points & only trailed by 8 at the half. If you didn't look at the scoreboard you would have assumed Queensland would have gone into the break with a 20 point lead.

NSW to their credit came out & hit Qld with everything in the second half & got it to within 4 points, only to see Qld score in the 79th minute. For most of the 2nd half the Maroons were under siege & were playing with players injured. They missed Greg Ingliss who copped a cheap hit one from Trent Barrett in the first half & played no further part after that.

4 series in a row now to Queensland.

NSW were lucky to get that close. They should've been down 20+ going into the half.

Only watched the second half. Queensland were very very lucky to hang on. By the 70th minute they were dead on their feet, but NSW just couldn't land a killer blow.

Gotta love Cameron Smith, Mr Reliable. Johnny on the spot for the last try.

Why are Queensland so dominant over NSW? Qld have won the past 4 series & with 70 mins gone in game 1,they lead NSW 28-14.

Simple, there are more Storm players in the Queensland side.

That Queensland backline is one of the best in Origin History. Slater, Inglis, Folau, Lockyer, Thurston, these are not just 5 exceptional players, they are elite. They are the best in the world at what they do. They are a joy to watch.

Woo hoo!!! Go Maroons!!! Loved the game, loved the biff, loved the Storm players doing so well, loved Jarryd Hayne doing nothing in a big game as usual.
