    Tevez Quits Man Utd

    Tevez Quits Man Utd

Kia Joorabchian has revealed Carlos Tevez had to walk away from Manchester United because he was not given enough time to consider their offer.

United announced on Saturday morning that Tevez would be leaving Old Trafford following a two-year loan spell with the club.

The Red Devils had agreed to pay the £25.5million fee required to secure Tevez's services permanently and offered the striker a lucrative five-year contract.

However, he rejected the proposal and is now expected to join either Manchester City or Chelsea.

Joorabchian has now clarified the situation by insisting that money was not a factor in the Argentine's decision.

The 25-year-old's advisor has also stressed that Tevez was left with no choice but to turn United down as he was not given enough time to make his mind up.

"When Man United made their offer about ten days ago, for the first time in two years, we never went back to them to ask about money," Joorabchian told Sky Sports News.

"We just asked for some time to think about it. Obviously they have had two years to think about it and Carlos had to make a decision based on his family.

"Just to make it clear, this has been Carlos' decision. Nobody else would make this decision for him."

Joorabchian added: "We didn't actually reject the offer. Manchester United have ruled themselves out of the running.

"We actually asked for more time and if they could not give that we would have to walk away.

"He wants time to digest it and to know which club would suit him because now he is committing the next five years of his future."

They offer him 5 years on massive wages and the complaint is he didn't have enough time to consider the move!!! The world has officially gone mad.then his agent is looking at a move to the bitters down the road. Trophies not a huge priority for Tevez

It seems with the current climate that trophies don't matter to any 'new age' soccer players, it's all about the dollar.

Trophies don't matter. Let's be honest, you or I could rock up at Man U next year and walk away with a trophy. That's why AFL is so good. Teams are even. Nothing's taken as given, year on year.

You never know with Tevez though. He's played for lowly clubs and won trophies with them. He might go to Man City as much for the challenge as for the money.

Could Man City genuinely challenge for a top 4 spot? I think I read that they have that type of money available to them.

The top 4 is just so important these days as it allows those clubs the opportunity to play Champions League football.

Man City seem hell bent of breaking the stranglehold Man Utd, Liverpool, Chelsea & Arsenal have & taking one of those 4 spots. If they can achieve that, then it will be even easier to lure big name players.

Good idea to get away from United now. United had 2 years to buy Tevez and never even made an offer. They they chuck a 1 week deadline. Good on him for telling them where to go.

They've got more than enough money because of their new owner. No one wants to go there though as TCD said

It will only take 1 or 2 good players to sign and the floodgates will open. They're not in Europe next year but a few good signings and it will look like they will be in 2010.
