*Clearly, while not crucial, the ability to avoid said cricket balls is preferable.
I'll just let that one slip through to the keeper......so to speak.

Haddin was injured doing what he is paid well to do properly, Pigeon is just a dill who stepped on a ball that wasn't there 20 seconds ago. It's a long way down from 6'5.
But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

I think my "winking face" should have been a strong indication that my post was in fact, tongue in cheek...however, just because Haddin or any other player, and there have been plenty that get injured in warm up's, doesn't mean that they are simply no good.

He has been very ordinary since taking over Gilly with the gloves, we can all see that, in fact he makes Gilly look like Alan Knott as a gloveman, but to say a player is a dud or crap or no good because he get's injured, smacks of narrow mindedness.

Really impressed with Watsons innings, I was one who wasn't a fan of his selection but from watching some highlights his technique is very, very sound. Drives anything full, pulls well, good off his pads and leaves very well. His straight driving is technically perfect. Like the look of him more and more.
I think he probably has more presence at the crease then Hughes as well, he's a big, tall, strong lad who wants to get on top and not be intimidated. Good, brave selection.

Oh no, 2 wickets 2 balls and I think Hussey just heard his career come crashing down.

Watson shouldn't have replaced Hughes IMO but he is certainly up to the standard. A lot of the general public seem to think he is simply no good. Nothing could be further from the truth really. Injury prone does not = useless. He is a solid batsmen with plenty to work with and an aggressive bowler who takes wickets. I think he is vulnerable around off stump especially to the ball nipping back which is why I dont think he is the answer opening. He is also a bit sluggish with his footwork at times due to his size. Ishant Sharma really sorted him out in India nipping the ball back around off and its something he will need to work on. He has all the shots but is not quite solid enough when defending at this stage.

It still makes me laugh, when the selectors say Brad Hodge isn't good enough to make the team.

Hussey hasn't done anything for 12 months, still there.

                      What about Hussey?
Why do so many players these days gets bowled leaving the ball they think is outside off? Would have thought it was rare 10-20 years back.

He is not in the side/squad for reasons outside of cricket imo. If it wasn't obvious after he missed this tour and the 20/20 world cup it sure as hell is now that he missed the 30 man squad for the next big one day series. I simply cant figure out another explanation. I am actually not a huge Hodge fan as a batsmen but on form over an extended period he has deserved a decent run at it.

                          Ponting out hooking.
                          Has the pitch changed?

Hughes has 2 bad games and was unlucky too. Gone.

Hussey averaging SFA for 18 months... Time to retire Mike.
