EIGHT groups. Boy it really is an expanded competition isn't it.. used to be pretty exclusive!

Commenting on the groups themselves, Man U and Arsenal have pretty easy ones, while group D and E (Chelsea's and Liverpool's respectively), and C look to be pretty tricky. Group G and H look pretty weak.

Anyway, the REAL Champions League stuff doesn't start until March anyway (the 2nd group stage).

Beckham back at Old Trafford, The Special One back at The Bridge, the media will hype these ties up for all they're worth.

They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

He appeared to have a lot of fun. Anyone catch the after match press conference? It was hilarious stuff. Typical chosen one antics.

Another Barcelona vs Man Utd final coming up by the looks of things.

The Bayern vs Man Utd clash should be the pick of this round as Barcelona should be able to destroy Arsenal's backline.

I love how everyone keeps putting Arsenal down. They have made it this far which shows they are no pushovers.

                      Who's putting Arsenal down?

They're up against the reigning title holders in the next round; it's reasonable to assume they might find that tie tough, but if you reckon someone tipping Barca is putting Arsenal down, you're kiddin' yourself!

Re-reading my post I probably didn't use the right wording. I should have said I love how everyone keeps writing Arsenal off.

But the comment about having their backline destroyed by Barca was a pretty big statement.

That was my immediate reaction to that statement too, but if you watched Stuttgart, who are no mugs, being casually dismantled by Messi and co. (it was 4-0 on the night but it could have been 10, no joke, and they were barely out of second or third gear most of the time) it is certainly not out of the realm of possibility.

My heart fears for poor old Sol Campbell if he has to chase down any of Bojan, Messi, Henry, Ibrahimovic, Alves et al, especially with Xavi or Iniesta (my favourite player in the world by a long, long way) pulling the strings against a defensive-stopper-less Arsenal midfield.
