    Australia vs India ODI Series

Some power hitting by Mike Hussey say the Aussies compile 8 for 292. Should be a good session this evening to see if we can control the power hitters from India.

I am really finding ODI's dragging... I don't relly like T20 at all, too much hit and giggle for my liking. But i found myself quite bored at times. My interest spiked when at the death no fast bowler could bowl a yorker FFS, Siddle bowls at tail enders pads for 15 off 3 balls and Watson went for 40 off 3 overs bowling full tolls every F&^%ING delivery. Worst death bowling ever!

Under the circumstances, Watson's last delivery may have been the worst ball I have ever seen.

With Lee and Hopes to miss the second ODI and Johnson doubtful, NSW all-rounder Moises Henriques has been flown back to India to join the squad. I think he's an ideal replacement for Hopes but his bowling isn't sharp enough to replace Lee.

            In: Bollinger, Watson, Henriques, Hauritz,

            Inj: Bracken, Lee, Clarke, Haddin

Other forms: Katich, Clark, Warner, Hughes, Jacques

Why do we bother having a state league comp?

Who deserves a spot in preference to Watson and Hauritz?

The team that played the other night was

              Watson (Qld to NSW)
              Paine (Tas)
              Ponting (Tas)
              Hussey (WA)
              White (Vic)
              Voges (WA)
              Hopes (Qld)
              Johnson (WA)
              Lee (NSW)
              Hauritz (NSW)
              Siddle (Vic)

Coming into the side is Marsh (WA) and either Hifenhaus (Tas) or Bollinger (NSW)

Not necessarily those two in mind. But it seems a NSW player seems always first picked. But it might just be me.

Haddin should not come back, but has been promised his spot in the media.
Clark should be dead and buried, but isn't.
                Bollinger is overrated. Way overrated.
Henriques is more hype than substance just now. Has potential though.

Krejza is a far more attacking bowler
Marcus North should be in the side
                Hodge still offers something
McDonald would be a decent replacement
                Rogers missed his opportunity

Are you talking ODI or test cricket?

If you are in fact talking ODI cricket
Krejza - was leaking runs in test cricket where defensive fields could be set. He's not a ODI cricketer
North - is more of a test cricketer and seems to be well in favor with the selectors.
Hodge - an argument can be made for him to get a top order spot but he does fail when it counts like the other week against NSW in the T20 semi final.
McDonald - could be good a good option at the ODI game. Hopes is a better bat, McDonald a superior bowler.
Rogers - way to defensive of a batsman to play ODI cricket.

Regarding Henriques, he's just hitting his straps but is exactly the sort of cricketer we want to test in this version of the game. My guess is that if he was a Victorian we would all be jumping up and down at the prospect of having him included in the side.

Where would you rank him in Australia's ranks of keepers?

Judging by your previous posts I imagine it would be Paine at no1. Who is your backup choice?

I don't know. It's not like theres a 21yo keeper currently playing Sheild cricket who averaged just on 50 for the year as well as breaking his state's record for most dismissals, is there?

                          Oh, wait ...

Wouldn't Ronchi have been a better selection is the shorter version of the game?

I'm not defending Manou as I'm not a fan, just interested as to where he sat in other people's minds.

For all i know Hartley could be his second choice (though i doubt it)
