It's going to be a great venue for the soccer and rugby codes but they need a proper name for it in the interim.

There is talk in the paper today that it will be Metricon Stadium.

Even though we've moved from Olympic Park, I think it will also be referred to as The Graveyard.

I'll lay pretty good odds that it's the first A-League Melbourne derby too. Can you imagine the crowd at the new stadium for a game between 2 Melbourne teams?

Shouldn't they play this game at ES such to maximise the crowd numbers.

Possibly, but it beats a game against Newcastle Jets. I think it'd create a great atmosphere and demand and while they could get more people into ES it's still likely a lesser fan experience.

They should call the new stadium - BORING Stadium, because thats what you get when you watch a game there.
