Vics made 7/326, biggest score ever run down in this comp is just over 300, should be a win.

Very good effort by Tassie to get as close as they did to a huge Vics score.

Even day in the Vics vs Tassie SS game. Hastings made a fine 82 n.o to rescue the Vics and he received good support from Damien Wright. Hussey made 72.

Amazing season from Hastings so far. He should be comfortable leading Victoria's best player award at the moment.

                How about these stats 09/10

                Shield:

                6* matches
                240 runs @ 80
                19 wickets @ 21.73

                ODD:

                8 matches
                131 runs @ 32.75
                S/R: 103.96
                15 wickets (1st overall) @ 26.40
                E/R: 5.14

                T20
                7 matches
                10 wickets (1st overall) @ 20.7
                E/R: 7.39

If he manages 5 wickets in this game, he will be the leading domestic wicket taker in each of the 3 forms of the game.

Not a fan of our team selection for this game. Mash is a very uninspired selection and Quiney has struggled massive for Victoria this season.

I would have liked us to replace McDonald in the side. At the moment we only have 4 genuine bowlers and a limited overs type part timer as the 5th option. I put Hastings and Wade ahead of both Mash and Quiney as batsmen. Wright is arguably a superior bat to Mash atm. McGain would have added more value as a 5th bowler than Mash/Quiney will do with the bat. We could have batted Wade/Hastings at 6/7. Wright and Pattinson are definitely up to moving up a position to 8/9.

Really not sure why Mash especially gets a go ahead of Hill.

Correct. St Kilda are the NSW of district cricket.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Maybe, but they win the 1st X1 premiership every other year so you would expect a fair representation at the next level up.

Does anyone think that the game yesterday was called off a little early. I know the Vics still needed 5 wickets, but there was still 16 overs left.

If it was the last game of the season and you needed to take those 5 wickets to make the Shield final, I don't think they would be finishing with 16 overs still to bowl.

I was thinking the same thing, if it was a test i doubt it would be called off. As long as there isn't a light problem, 16 overs is plenty of time to take the last 5 wickets.

Well done to Quiney anyway for his hundred((about time this season) and Finch making a 50 on debut) and hopefully he can carry this form through the rest of the season.
