The champions league suits the Adelaide style of football. More time on the ball and slow build ups suit the Adelaide style. Well played and hopefully they do the A-League proud.

Not to mention more than 48 hours between games. Having said that, I hope they do well too, although it would just fuel the anti-Melbourne brigade (and that's pretty much everyone not in Melbourne, I suppose regular success -- and having double the attendance figures of every other club -- breeds envy and hatred.. this is what Manchester United must feel like on a far larger scale...)
Trust me I just think there might be a tad more interest in soccer than AFL in AsiaYes and Europe and perhaps Africa
Not in my house.
If any of the A-League teams are competitive then I am guessing the standard is somewhere just below 'quite poor' and the crowds hovering around 'mediocre'.
I sat through the A-League "grand" final last week - simply farcical game. The Victory players hanging their heads in despair after the shootout was laughable - maybe if they actually had the courage too attack during the game (or maybe if Sydney did) that never would have occurred. Reminded me again why I don't like the sport and why watching the sub-elite' level of any competition is always disappointing.
