    Storm v Warriors - 25/04/10

Anyone going? I had got a bunch of friends ready to go, thinking we'd get in for our concession rate of $16 like at the footy.

Turns out that, according to Ticketmaster, they only have adult tickets available, which cost $32.50. So now all my friends have bailed, because us uni students don't have cash to throw around (unless it's on food, alcohol or petrol) and I don't get to show my support. Bit bummed.

Hopefully they do get a good crowd there though.

The Storm are smashing the Warriors in front of what looks a very big crowd.
        34-0 so far.
30 min to go, if this isnt the closest knit team ever I dont know what is.

Slater just scored another and its a punch on, the Warriors have lost it, giving away penalties, high tackles and taking players out.
Both captains been warned one Warriors player reported 40-0 10 minutes to go.

Great effort from the crowd 24000 at Etihad, when you consider 90,000 at the ESS v COLL game too.
How many made both I wonder.

I wanted to bet the house but the missus wouldn't let me.

                This will do though.

As I've posted, I'm in northern NSW on holidays, and boy has this made NSW jump! Most of the NRL shows on the tv have written the Storm off - "can't survive, the fans will dessert them, etc." I did think to myself, well you guys, you don't know what Melbourne and Victorian fans are like, and they will stick, through thick and thin! Last night's crowd proved that, and the players are demonstrating that they are united and will keep pulling together and survive this. I sure hope they do - it will stick in the throats of most NSW people who obviously don't like having a Victorian/Melbourne side in the NRL! Stick it up 'em Stormers!

Don't want anyone to take this question the wrong way, but is 23,000 a good crowd size for the NRL? I have mainly AFL games to compare....

                        Yes it is.

Most of the games played in NSW get less than 15,000. It must be said that many games are still played at 'traditional' grounds which have reduced capacities, but even when games are played at venues like SFS or Homebush the crowds don't much bigger than 25,000.

Went to the game on Sunday night (of course!!) and it was amazing. Such an emotional night, starting with the Last Post & minute silence, ending with Cameron Smiths speech (poor bloke was nearly crying) and a lap around the ground where all players walked right along the fence to see the supporters. The crowd of 23,906 was great, sounded more like 50,000. The majority of Storm supporters are definately still on board. I really hope the playing group can stay together and we come back even stronger next year.

Anything over 15 000 is a good crowd fro NRL, i think it is more a TV sport
