    Yahoo NBA Fantasy Basketball

I didn't get much success in here last year but hoping for some people to join a league I've created. Right now it only sits at 6 teams and I need at least 2 more to join, even more if possible.

The Draft is set for 11 Am this Saturday and the order will be decided at random on the day.

Yahoo Fantasy Basketball. Create or join a NBA league and manage your team with live scoring, stats, scouting reports, news, and expert advice.

It's hard to explain and like most Fantasy type games it takes you about a season to work it out properly.

Basicly you have a team like Supercoach with positions, currently the league settings are PG, SG, G, SF, PF, F, C, Util, Util, Util, Util, BN, BN, BN, BN these will probably change to less positions if we manage to get some more teams.

Util means any player can play there and the BN means Bench these players don't score for you.

Unlike Supercoach there is only 1 of each player available in the whole league. If someone else has Lebron you can't have him unless you make a trade for him. This is the reason for a Draft so everyone gets the chance to pick up the players they want.

Note: If you can't make it Yahoo selects for you.

The hardest bit is keeping track of your team. Because there are NBA games on every day you have to make sure you have all your players playing and not sitting the Bench so you have to rotate them regularly. You can manage your team weeks in advance which is how I do it. I look at my team at the start of the week and change it round for the upcoming week. You can trade players to other teams and you can cut players and sign free agents.

Our league is set on Head to Head Mode. So you play off the other managers every week until the end of season. I think the last 4 weeks are set for Finals. To beat your opponent you need to win the most statistical catergories. This league is set to:

      Field Goal Percentage (FG%)
      Free Throw Percentage (FT%)
      3-point Shots Made (3PTM)
      3-point Percentage (3PT%)
      Points Scored (PTS)
      Total Rebounds (REB)
      Assists (AST)
      Steals (ST)
      Blocked Shots (BLK)

      Turnovers (TO)
      Personal Fouls (PF)
      Technical Fouls (TECH)
      Flagrant Fouls (FF)

There are negative catergories (Marked Red) included in there and those are the ones you don't want to win. You will lose that catergory if you get the most of those so it does take some good planning. All the others catergories (Marked Bold) if you get the highest amount you win that category. You get 1 point for each category.

It's hard to explain and I hope you can understand it. If you like NBA basketball it is a lot of fun and makes the season a little more interesting.

Are you planning to do a live draft or auto?

I would be keen to participate, but unlikely to be available on Sat morning

          Live draft.

If you can't make it just give an order of players you would like if you don't want Yahoo selecting them.

I don't think I could change it as the few in the league have known it is on this weekend for a while now.

            I am signed up Commish.

Looking forward to it. Never played a laegue with 13 categories. Always just 9.
Shame Rasheed retired. Would have loved to have seen him in this format

It may be less categories. I'll decide a bit closer and it all depends on how many teams as well. If I can get it to 8 I doubt we'll have as many players per roster.

I like having the negative statistics though. It saves having using Mangers using brute force to win, which does happen a lot.

Glad to have you on board.

              Anyone else?
