    2010 / 2011 Sheffield Shield

Tasmania are bouncing back after a poor start.

Currently 4 for 150 with Cosgrove in the 80's.

Wright has chimed in with a couple of wickets and Siddle keeping it very tight.

Good to see Siddle back and bowling well.

Could be the best thing for Cosgrove(getting a kick in the arse from SA). He is so talented as a batsman, if only he had the desire and the fitness. But he is still only 26 and I would love for him to turn it around and return to the Aussie side in any of the form of the game.

        He's moved to 100.
As talented as he is, he will need to really perform if he wants higher honors.

I agree, he needs to do it over consecutive seasons too before he should get a look in and hopefully the Aussie selectors have let him know this.

By the sounds of things he really needs to impress the state selectors and he will need to be Darren Lehmann like with the bat to start putting his name forward as a potential Australian player.
He has the talent but his attitude and application haven't been anywhere near what is needed.

Tassie 9 for 315 at stumps with Cosgrove making 159.

Vics stumbling in the middle order. MacDonald didn't get a wicket with the ball and made a 5th ball duck.

Seems strange to have Wade batting ahead of Quiney. Wades an improving batsman but Quiney must just be making up the numbers if he is going to come in at number 7.

Siddle might have bowled himself back into test selection calculations. 3 wickets and bowled very tightly.
Match is in a good position for a result.

It's going to be tough for him to leapfrog Hilfy, Johnson and Bollinger(assuming he's fit), but he's definitely first cab off the rank.

There is some talk they will play four pacemen in the first test.

I don't see why we would need to when we already have Watson as a very competent forth quick. We are really struggling for spin options ATM.

Made only 2 in the 2nd innings as well.

                          Vics 4/77 chasing 284.

Of course he did -- the last couple of weeks his previous performances had been talked up by the media re: getting back on the radar of the national selectors, so it was a given he was going to do f-all in this game.

And McDonalds bowling wasn't great either.
His batting has always been my knock on him. He was normally at his best when he came in at 7 or maybe 6 and when asked to bat at 5 the performances become inconsistent.
