It would help if the captain and vice captain showed the way with a decent innings instead of the predictible cameos.

We'll see what the crowds are like for the one dayers against England, these three one dayers are pointless and everybody knows it, hence the crowds are low. We will have 45,000+ for the one dayer against the poms at the G, bookmark it. Or should I just post like the rest of the tripe that gets posted on this cricket board? Get Hodge in the side, Jewell should be captain, cricket is dead and im dancing on its grave ZONG!!!!11!!!1

May I ask why these ODI's are pointless?

What are we playing for? Some two bob trophy nobody would know the name of without trusty old google. Everybody knows the main meal is on the horizon in regards to the Ashes, this three match series is nothing but the stale roll left on the plate as decoration. This one day series provides nothing except a calender filler and money maker for CA and a decent hit out and squad finaliser in regards to the world cup. Cricket Australia know this, the media knows this and the fans have responded with poor turnout (mind you the first game was on a wednesday night and the second had rain forecast, putting a substantial dint in any crowd prepared to attend the games)

I think you have overreacted a bit.

This isn't an issue about Hodge or dancing on the cricket grave and despite the fact that even if we get 45,000 plus to the ODI against England I still think there is some significant challenges for CA to deal with to win back the fans support.

A lot of Australians aren't supporting the team at the moment and I don't see that as a good thing.

Fair enough but I don't agree.

A three match series(would have been nice to have a test against them too) against the third best cricketing nation is a pretty good way to start the season IMO(and I have enjoyed the cricket).

I like the way the international calendar is going with up to three different series happening a summer instead of one that goes forever. Lets hope the Ashes doesn't get boring early or it's going to drag.

I'm not too worried about the crowd for England one dayers but more the test matches.

Can't believe you think a record low crowd is nothing to be concerned about.

Do you really think Hodge shouldn't be in the T20 side?

Why are these ODI's any more pointless than the other 4000 that get played every year?

This isn't like the soccer/baseball/basketball arguements where the sport itself is getting bashed. Most of us here were brought up on cricket and love the game. But right now, here in Australia, it's in trouble.
