    Lunch - England 2/86

Honours about even I'd think. If Doherty had held that catch off Cook just before lunch it might have been different.

Pietersen the danger man on 23.

Yep, not a straight forward chance but you'd hope to catch it. A couple of quick wickets to start the second session would be great.

          Re: Ashes - First Test

Has England done a good job getting to lunch only 2 wickets down on what has been widely touted as a green top that would play up a bit? How is the pitch playing? Would Australia's top order have survived to lunch with only the loss of two wickets? Is the pitch making the bowlers look better than they are?

I'm just worried that if we don't take the opportunity to bowl a side out playing on a wet pitch they'll bat themselves in and we could be in for a long one.

2 quick wickets to Siddle, Pietersen & Collingwood. Now 4/129.

That looks more like what was expected from the wicket. Has Strauss made a big boo-boo in batting first? Australia's fragile batting line-up could have really been exposed on this wicket -- our bowling hasn't been an issue, really; it's our batsmen that have needed to perform and England could really have put some pressure on them.

The pitch isn't doing particularly much, it's very slow and looks a little soft, but nothing to get batsmen out. It might dry out and harden up day 2 & 3 and become better to bat on but there's no reason not to win the toss and bat today.

When your wrong, your wrong. Sids has been the pick of the bunch today, been the only quick to find the right length, full, straight, firey and swinging the ball both ways. HATRICK YOU STAR SID
