Snood - the latest fashion accessory

A trend started a few years back in Italy & Spain has now crept into the EPL, players wearing woolen neck warmers called a snoods.

Last week 9 players in the EPL sported a snood.

You wont see one being worn at Old Trafford as Fergie has banned them, quite rightly in my view. I reckon they look ridiculous!

Fergie would fellate the homeless to get Nasri at Old Trafford. If a snood came as part of the package I dont reckon it would be a deal breaker.

Personally I wouldnt be able to resist grabbing hold of one and giving it a good yank when the ref was looking in the other direction.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

We use snoods on our dogs. I thought there only purpose was for keeping the long hair on their ears out of their food while eating. These soccer players must be messy eaters.

          Or they have hairy ears.

Snood sounds like a character in Dr Who.

I think they look pretty silly too but I can understand wanting to keep warm in conditions like those in the UK at the moment.

Nasri and another Gunner in Chamakh wear them. I think they have been our best two players this season. so I definitely don't mind them. The way Nasri is going I think I would even tolerate him wearing a Spurs snood.

I thought a snood was a sort of hairnet thing that medieval ladies wore. Things have moved on, obviously, if they are now footballers' neckwear!

You'd think it would be all too tempting to use them for throttling purposes.

Well spotted but not just ladies. They are the sorts of hats you see the peasants wearing in Brughel paintings.

They look ridiculous particulary with players who are from cold European countries.
I mean breaking news it does get cold in France!
Can see why Tevez needs one (anything to hide that Herman the Munster neck)

                    Who cares? It's how they play that counts not how they dress;

from 1.22 is my view on the matter.

Have been in NY for 4 days and the headwear on the right of the painting pretty much mirror what is in fashion over here -- although when it actually snowed last night I didn't really care what I was wearing on my head, just glad I was wearing SOMETHING (and would have gladly worn a snood!)

Do you mean the guy wearing the sandals who looks like he has slipped his hand underneath the fold of his cloak for a quick ham shank?
