    Changes for Melboure, If any...

Great performance by the boys, the only real downside was Pontings finger injury but apparently he is confident of playing in Melbourne. I cant see the four quicks working in Melbourne, Siddle was underbowled as is so I'd only be the one change of Siddle out and bringing Hauritz back in (who scored another ton for NSW today). Its probably a bit rough on Beer but in my opinion he shouldnt have been in the squad for this test in the first place.

I'd make the same change. I see Hauritz has hit his 2nd century of the season for NSW as well.

Great for Hauritz but is he a batsman or bowler? If he is to take someones spot it should be Smith's cos he bowling isn't great either. Figures inflated by some dodgy Paki tests.
Siddle will be dropped for Beer. Ponting shouldn't play for his finger and form but I have a funny feeling he will.

He's a bowler but like a lot of things with cricket if he's showing something with one particular skill like he is with his batting then his bowling is probably on the improve as well.

If we're to leave out a quick for a spinner (which we probably should do unless it's a green top), I'd leave out Hilfenhaus instead of Siddle. Johnson and Harris have shown that if there's swing they both dangerous, if not they don't create too many troubles for the batsmen. I don't see the point of playing another bowler who relies on swing (and who still didn't take wickets when the ball was hooping around). Siddle at least offers something different should the conditions not be condusive, I fear our attack being very toothless unless the conditions suit.

I agree with leaving out Hilf instead of Siddle. You would expect Beer will replace a quick and get his debut, which is alright with me as he could turn out to be a decent spinner yet with Hauritz we already know he's not that flash.

Despite being hardly used in Perth, I would retain Siddle for Melbourne - bowlers who hit the track hard are more successful on "dead" drop in pitches than bowlers who rely on movement through the air. A frontline spinner is vital at the G as well.

One change for me.... Come in Spinner, rest up for Sydney Ben Hilfenhaus.

I know they won't drop him but Phil Hughes is in no way deserving of his spot.

To be honest, anyone who's going to make more than 15 runs would be an improvement. Hughes can't go 3 overs without playing a careless, loose shot.

Do we have one of those at our disposal?

Surprised Shaun Marsh wasn't even considered ahead of Hughes for the 3rd test. I doubt a change will be made now.

I'd drop Siddle. Realistically has done very little since Brisbane, and doesn't exactly beat the bat often.

Would def bring in Hauritz. Won't happen though. He's the best spinner in the country and while he's not great, if you're picking a spinner then it should be the guy who's playing the best. Beer may have a future, but he has no numbers to back up his inclusion in the squad.

I think we need to focus on our batting though. Pup Clarke needs to be under the microscope. I'd keep Smith & Hughes in for the next test but as a team we can't carry Hughes, Smith, Ponting, & Clarke for another test. Something's got to give. Either they improve (Hopefully!) or we make some changes at the top.

I would have hoped that a back-up for Ponting would be included to at least practice & gain experience with the squad.

You would think Khawaja would come into the squad as a back up(like he did in Brisbane).
