    What A Game.

Anyone who watched the Barca - Arsenal game tonight would have watched an absolute masterpiece in drama and unbelievable skill. A game that had everything, including (not really) controversial refereeing decisions.

I'm so pumped I don't think I'll be able to sleep for another couple of hours.

Did SBS show the game down under?

Yes it was shown on SBS.

Aresenal did not have one shot on goal.

Barcelona are a pleasure to watch

Appalling decision by the ref to give RVP a 2nd yellow card. He was flagged offside, didn't hear the ref's whistle & 1 second later shot at goal.

The ref deemed him to be time wasting & subsequently booked him & as it was his 2nd booking he was sent from the field meaning Arsenal had to play the remaining 34 mins with only 10 players.

The Camp Nou was a screaming mass of parochial hysteria (95,000 fans), quite understandable that someone would not hear the whistle. Changed the game in my view.

The above isn't to take away from the way FCB play, sublime in the extreme.

The dismissal of Van Persie wasn't a controversial (and incorrect) decision... PPPPPPlease???

Haha -- I don't know. There was a non-penalty call in the first half, and Koscielny could have gotten a second yellow at least a couple of times (if Arsenal didn't already have a guy sent off I'm sure he would have been.. ref probably showed a bit of 'mercy' then).

The sending off was very harsh, but it was for a second yellow. Van Persie got himself his first yellow for a stupid act in the first half anyway (people have gotten reds for that kind of nutty hand-to-the-face "tackle"). I don't know -- it's controversial, but not CRAZY controversial (and technically correct anyway, although the ref should probably have had a better feel for the game) in the big scheme of controversial refereeing decisions.

As an Arsenal supporter I'll say it just wasnt meant to be. We pretty much base our game on keeping possession of the ball and Barca just wouldnt let us near the bloody thing. Pretty close to the best team effort (on BFC's part) I've ever seen we were completely outplayed.

Van Persie getting sent off had little (actually no) effect on the outcome of the game. We could have had 12 men on the pitch and it wouldnt have made any difference. That's how far superior they were. Was it 30 shots on goal to none? I am feeling very, very flat today.

At least we can devote all out attention to winning the Premier league now.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Yeah can you please go ahead and do that? United need to stay 18 titles for at least one more season!

I've got an awful feeling that giving up that 4 goal half time lead to Newcastle a month ago and last weekend's result against Sunderland are going to prove costly in the washup at the end of the season. Sides that want to win the title just cant afford slip ups like that.

Some of the whinging and finger pointing at everyone else but ourselves when thigs dont go our way tends to shit me too. Really good teams take the good with the bad and get on with winning games rather than blaming everyone else.

Hahaha not only did he hear the refs whistle he also saw the linesmans flag.

Harsh red? 100% yes. RVP didn't know what he was doing? 100% no.

                        The quarter final draw is:

                        Real Madrid v Tottenham

                        Chelsea v Manchester United

                        Barcelona v Shakhtar Donetsk

                        Inter Milan v Schalke

                        The semi final draw is:

                        Inter Milan/Schalke v Chelsea/Manchester United

                        Real Madrid/Tottenham v Barcelona/Shakhtar Donetsk

All I need is Tottenham to go through and play Barca in the semis. If they beat Barca in the semis then, like Golden Gordon in Ripping Yarns, "I might just give up on football for a bit"

A Barca -Real semi would be well worth watching. Forget your Showdown's those 2 legs would have a ridiculous atmosphere.
