Fact is the there is no reason White wasnt picked ahead of the two young ones except for the selectors pick whoever without common sense or form coming into it.

And it all fell apart when the great team in the last era retired and they had to make decisions, the aussie team over the last 20 years picked itself it was so good.
Bowlers get picked on potential(not aways but often), batsmen get picked on runs. This has been happening forever.

Johnson, Warne, McGrath, Reid, Lee etc

White's long game form is nowhere that of Marsh and Khawaja.
    The curse is dead.

          Few interesting articles:

Probably a fair call in relation to Lyons' call up but a guy like Copeland is the complete opposite, where as Lyon has been picked on a few glimpses of a raw, flashy talent, Copleand is a more steady, less eye catching prospect who gets in on deserving numbers, shall be interesting in watching who progresses further in regards to pure talent V consistent performer.

The other interesting one is O'Keefe, seemingly ticks all the boxes, best performed spinner at state level, decent batsmen, fields well, mid 20's, I just dont see how he is so far down the pecking order. In regard to spinners, if all were fit and well my preferences would be Hauritz, O'Keefe and I would have Lyon as third best with an eye to the future, let him get some Shield experience first, seems we havent learnt a thing from the management of Cullen, Bailey and even Holland seems to be going a similar way.

O'Keefe was in the Australian A match down in Hobart and performed well but then ignored for the balance of the year. He probably doesn't have enough 'turn' to be the front line spin bowler. As you say Lem, he's sharp in the field and more than handy with the bat.

The problem for him will be with Hauritz coming back from injury and Steve Smith playing as the 2nd spin bowler there won't be a regular spot for him in the NSW side.

I wouldnt say hes that far off Beer or Hauritz in terms of rip though I would say hes a better bowler then Smith in terms of consistency and accuracy, for a little guy he's not a bad flighter of the ball, he's not a dart thrower. 52 wickets from 14 matches at 24 is more the encouraging.

If I were NSW I'd be playing all three, with Hughes and Khawaja looking at decent stints with the test side, there is probably a spot for Smith up the order, O'Keefe can bat at 7 in my mind.
