    WA vs Vic

Must have been an interesting days cricket.
WA finished the day at 9 for 272 after looking like they would be bowled out for 230 or so.

If it wasn't for a solid partnership between Pomersbach and Wates and a few dropped chances by the Vics they probably would have only made 230.

A lot of the WA batsman got starts but couldn't turn their scores into 50's. The Vic's dropped Lewis from the 11 and he now might need others to be injured before he gets a game.

I see Hodge failed with the bat. The Vics were 2 for 15 at one stage with both openers gone.

They were 2/2 at one stage!

4/85 now, so slowly working their way back into it, but these two need to make a score.

            Stumps.

            WA 1/81.

Leading by 244 after routing the Vic's for 114.

The Vics are copping a good old fashioned arse kicking. I'm not sure if it's the quality of the WA team or not but the Vics have been exposed with our batting and fielding efforts.

Hodge 2 and now out for a first ball duck. Dud.

Vics lack of quality being exposed against an average side.

2 down already and Hodge has been found wanting when the pressure is on again.
It's interesting that Gilchrist was dismissed both times by McGain.

                  Inness got Hodge both times.

                  Hoggy hit a run a ball 58

Geez, WA will be able to declare on the first day and beat SA by an innings.
Have you heard Butters wants to come to the Dogs?

                      Re: WA vs Vic

Despite what happened against NSW last week and DR's comments, this WA team is actually a bit better than average. The think about the NSW game is that the Blues turned things around with a great effort by the tail (Nicholson) in the first innings and WA could never get it going again - they are going to be OK though....that said, they will need to get Rogers back sooner rather than later.

Victoria's batting in this match has been disappointing - just no partnerships. Calling Hodge a dud based on one match is a bit rough though - does that mean if he makes runs in a game he is a superstar?

                        Vic 9/164 just before lunch.

Hogg has 4/62 in his 19th over.

Yep, I have just quoted myself.

I thought this read that I was having a go at you DR - I wasn't. More a comment about the perception of Brad Hodge down here as the messiah - he is not that. Neither is he deserving of some of the criticism he cops from non-Vic supporters though. Not too many players who have had as few chances as he has had at the top level draw as many opinions as this guy.
