He gets more grief than Ben Harrison, Sam Power and Nathan Eagleton combined.
That surprises me a bit. He's no Tim Neilsen, but he isn't half bad behind the stumps. His batting has obviously improved a lot too. I think he cops a lot of unecessary flak as he was acting captain for a while whilst Lehman was on International duties, and our team was an absolute shamble.
A century to Gillespie. I wonder if we needed to go into a test with 4 paceman during the summer if his improved batting and obvious experience gets him back into some sort of calculation with the selectors.
I highly doubt it. I personally think Gillespie was hard done by and is certainly out of favor and in no contention. Doesn't mean I don't think he would do a reasonable job.

How can he improve on his last test innings???
He has lost a bit of zip with his bowling and without that extra bit of zip he is just your run of the mill state level bowler. In saying that I hope he can find it somewhere (maybe grow his mullet again) as I enjoy watching him run around with the baggy green on.
I can still remember the ball Dizzy bowled to Lara at the G back in the Boxing Test some years ago. Bowling around the wicket he set him up with 5 straight off cutters which Lara left. The last bowl of the over pitched in a similiar spot, Lara left it has he had done to the rest, the ball jagged back and hit the off stump. It was a peach of a delivery.

I guess his batting has improved so much in the last 12 months is the point that TG is making.
Whilst I agree that he has lost a bit of zip he is still far better than a run of mill state bowler.
In a four pronged pace attack he could do a specific job for the team.

But in his last test match innings didn't he score an unbeaten double hundred??? Just being sarcastic..
May have been a bit tough on him with my analogy, but I wouldn't think he would be in the best 6 or 7 bowlers in the country in the eyes of the selectors. I don't agree with this myself and think he should me right in the mix for a test spot. I rate him a far better bowler than the 'golden boy' that is one B.Lee. This summer will be a big test for this bloke.
