    MacGill vs Hogg?

I see that Gilchrist has been talking Hoggy up and Terry Jenner sticking with MacGill.
Could the selectors really consider Hogg given that 18 months ago he wasn't even in the WA state team? Also his form in England over the 4 day competition was very average.

MacGill has taken nearly 200 test wickets and would have to be in the box seat for the spinners position wouldn't he?
Does anyone think Hogg should be selected?

MacGill is a complete tosser, but he deserves first crack.

He has been the no.2 spinner in Australia for the best part of 10 years and has performed well when he has donned the baggy green in the past.

I dont think he's a tosser Mantis - he is just different to the rest of the Aussie cricketers and very different from the old culture of Warne, McGrath, SWaugh, Tubby Taylor etc

I am a big fan of MacGill

He is not what I would call a man's man. He is a wine swirling toss pot..

I don't like the way he carries on after he takes a wicket.I don't like the way he starts his bowling action. I can't stand the way he wipes his fingers on his poofy little towel. And I can't stand the fact that he continues to take wickets with half tracker's.

(2Dogs, if MacGill was on the buck's party I spoke to you about last night he would be with the other group of poof's drinking water and powerade rather than getting stuck into the piss.)

Clearly you just dont like the guy and thats your call but just because he is not from the old school ***** culture of cricket does not mean he is not a man.

So he wouldn't be comfortable throwing down a meal of baked beans, a slab of coldies and few ciggies with warnie and the crew BUT I feel very confident he would get into the piss at a bucks party.

He might even pass on the Grange and settle for a bottle of "Hill of Grace"

Touche - the hill of grace is reportedly a pretty good drop - you can be sure MacGill has a few in his cellar

Not sure why it blocked out my description of cricket culture when it wasn't an expletive

I still cant believe that. There's some tossers aroud the place but what are the odds of being stuck on a bus with all at them at the same bucks party?

As far as the test spinner spot it's gotta be MacGill. Has to be-its India and Sri Lanka this summer people and even though Hogg keeps stepping up ti challenges the sub-Continentals have been all playing spin bowling since they were still in the womb. They'd destroy Hogg.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

I think the Indians will have a field with MacGill too, but agree that he gets's first crack. I would think that MacGill will get the 2 tests against Sri Lanka to prove his worth. I will be watching how he goes against players like Jayawardne more so than the bowlers as it may give us a better indication of how he is bowling and how he will fair against the classy Indian batsman.

MacGill might get slapped around-he usually does-a bit but he bowls wicket taking balls as well.

We've been spoiled by Warne just rocking in and dropiing it on the spot from the first ball of his first over. I'm gonna miss him.

I'd say he'd pass on both on both and head for a Cote Rotie or a Hermitage. Frogs make much better wine than us.

Yep, MacGill is the best we've got against the masters of spin.
