    Tevez - Major Dummy Spit!

In this mornings Champions League clash between Bayern Munich & Manchester City, Carlos Tevez refused to take the field when Manager Roberto Mancini attempted to substitute him into the game.

We often see petulant displays when players are substituted out of a game, but refusing to go on, strange one that.

Mancini has said that Tevez is finished at the club.

All those big salaries, all those big egos!

    That is unbe-f***ing-lieveable.

Surely couldn't play under Mancini again. One of them has to go. Will be a test for the owners of the club. Do they show that no player is above the club or kiss up to the marquee player?

Re: Tevez - Major Dummy Spit!

Graeme Souness was commentating on the game for Sky & had this to say:

"I'm in disbelief," he said. "I had a couple of years with Roberto Mancini and I could tell you from the moment he started speaking that he was deeply upset, he was very emotional. And then as he spoke he explained what the problem was.

"It was half an hour to go, as I remember it, when he asked him to go on - why would a player not want to go on to help his team-mates out? How selfish can you get? Because he didn't start? How petulant can you get?"

Souness also insisted that City would be best advised to get rid of Tevez before he unsettles a squad that is currently joint top of the Premier League.

"You would chase him from Manchester tomorrow if you could because he is one bad apple and that can spread," he added.

"When it's all going well for a manager with a big squad like he has, he'll be whispering in other people's ears causing the manager problems.

"The owner or whoever is running Manchester City now has to help the manager and get him [Tevez] as far away as possible from the club. It's not about money with Man City, but he is one bad apple.

"He's making noises about wanting to go and every time he opens his mouth it's a different reason for wanting to leave Man City - he's a disgrace to football.

"Your average man in the street thinks there's a lot wrong with the modern-day footballer.

"Tevez epitomises what the man in the street thinks is wrong with modern football players."

He ia paid to play, when he refuses to play I imagine its contract torn up.
What a wanker, how can you possibly not go on, for your team mates, fans etc..
Another Aker, not that Aker ever refused to play just its all about him.
        Bring back the biff

They made a big effort to sell him but no-one wanted to pay for him. City might have lost a bit of money by holding him for one more period (not that it matters to Mansour)
However even without his attitude he was clearly out of the first team and probably even the 4th striker behind Mario.
It was always going to be impossible to control 4 strikers when they chose Tevez and Mario as 3 and 4, more just who would snap first

They did want over 40 million for him though.

I did read that Tevez has stated that he did not refuse to go on and that there was a misunderstanding with Mancini. not sure how there can be a misunderstanding with 'i'm not going on'.

Brilliant player but the biggest cry baby going around in sport today. Not sure who would want to take him unless he is free.

Tevez has now been suspended by Man City for 2 weeks.
