Re: Horse Racing - Spring Carnival 2011

Will it ever get to the stage where Black Caviar will run a race by herself?

Its wierd, I think the connections of a 5th place horse in today's race would've still made a profit, yet only 4 started.

Meanwhile, I think there was a big group 1 run today...?

Good win by Pinker Pinker. The Cox Plate is a very difficult race to win, you make your move too early or too late and you're gone.

Well done to Americain with his win in the MV Cup, brilliant warm up for next Tuesday. Could easily go back to back.

Great ride by Williams, stayed on the fence and got to the front from almost sitting last while the others all went wide. He is in top form winning a Caulfield Cup, Geelong Cup and now the Cox Plate.

Flashbacks to Mummify in the 05 Caulfield Cup. That was chilling.

Mackinnon Stakes looks like an absolute brilliant race as always.

Not sure where to look, so much talent. Think I will back Effecient, had a great Cox Plate finish even though 2000 is prob too far.

I haven't had a look at the fields for Saturday at this stage. I usually go Derby day, its the best days racing for the whole year, however, not sure if I will make it this year.

I think he meant too short.

At first glance I thought the Mackinnon field looked pretty weak.... Will have another look tonight I guess.

Pretty keen on Mosheen tomorrow... even though Gai has all but declared More Joyous I think she is ripe for the picking.

Williams has lost his appeal against careless riding and will miss 10 meetings including the cup. However, he is free to ride tomorrow as the careless riding charge, was after riders appointed for Saturday.

I'll be on it all the way to the bank (hopefully).

Quaddie will be a hard one tomorrow, Manawanui in top form but some great competition.
