Good post DT. Copeland is a good defensive bowler but I think we have to go into the first test with Harris, Johnson and Siddle and ask Watson to bowl tight.
You can get away with the likes of Copeland and McDonald on the slower tracks but I don't think SA would be the spot for them.

I am fine with that so long as Siddle bowls the way he bowled in our last test match. I find he is far more suited to that role than the enforcer role Ponting had him playing. The only thing with SA is that you do get a bit of assistance off the pitch so Copeland would still be pretty dangerous.

In my opinion some of the best test matches to watch are in SA because you get reasonably favourable bowling conditions at some of the venues.

That's the type of role they think Beer could play, that defensive
spinner in the Paul Harris mode. With Copand in the eleven I think we need Lyon as a wicket taker but if Siddle is believed to be the better option, I'd play the left armer.

Johnson has a second innings 5 fer, if he fires things become a lot simpler

Finished with 9-112? for the Match. He does seem to bowl well to the Yarpies. Apparently Copeland struggled (no surprise to me), does it open the door for Paddy?? Reports suggest Siddle bowled well also. A pair of fifties to Shaun Marsh another highlight.

To beat the Saffers, you gotta get Kallis.

He bowls well in Sth Africa, besides Perth on occassions it's the only place where he can get teh ball to tail into a RH batter which is a leftie's biggest weapon.
