I love Warner. Boon like center of gravity. He breathes a bit of life into Cricket.

Warner - just what we need, another who blasts his way out of trouble.

Do we have anyone who can dig in when we need it?

Warner has been working very hard on building an innings and not blasting his way out. Suggest you watch some of his work in the past 6 months. Has changed his style completely.

Pointing has always fallen across the crease, he just got away with it for years.

I think he has reach a level of maturity with his batting that should mean he's prepared to dig in and graft his runs when needed.

Usman Khawaja can certainly dig in when needed.

Because he's a real batsman, you know, in the old sense of the word. Hit-and-giggle sloggers aren't really batsmen per se.

Interesting that you guys are saying that Warner, the archetypal slogger, is maturing. I look forward to seeing that maturity, as his eye and reaction time are astonishing, so he certainly has the raw physical gifts of a precocious talent -- if his technique and mental side of his game develop accordingly he could become a valuable counter-punching type in the middle order.

I hope he puts the hard work required to eke out a glorious Test career ahead of the easier money on offer in the shorter forms of the game.

You can't rebuild a cricket side with 36 year olds.

Warner has played one shield match this season and scored 148 off 185 balls.

Liam Davis, RH Opener from WA is doing well so far this season in the Shield: Seems to be a Katich type who can hang around and take the shine off the ball.

                              Matches - 4 Ins - 8 Runs - 451 HS - 135 Ave - 56.37 BF - 1078 SR - 41.83
