    Presidents Cup 2011

Thought i would start a thread all things Presidents Cup. First day is team foursomes (Alternate shots).

Some unbelievable golf being played this afternoon. The greens are incredibly fast.

Have been super impressed with Adam Scott and KJ Choi (4 up after 7) playing Woods and Stricker.

All over for the first days play.

      USA 4 V Internationals 2

      Els/Ishikawa V Watson/Simpson US win 4 & 2

      Ogilvy/Schwartzel V Haas/Watney All Square match halved

Baddeley/Day V Johnson/Kuchar All Squared match halved- Badderly choked horribly in the final holes

      Goosen/Allenby V Mickelson/Furyk US win 4 & 3

      Kim/Yang V Mahan/Toms US win 6 & 5

      Scott/Choi V Woods/Stricker INT win 7 & 6

Some outstanding play today, i think both teams would be reasonably happy with their position. Tomorrow four-ball better ball.
By the way Channel 9 was disgraceful with their telecast and to cap it off they go to Hot Seat with both teams to finish out their last hole of the day.

Spent the afternoon out there today.
Course is in amazing condition. Fantastic crowds.

Left after the halved match with Ogilvy & Co.
Could not believe Badds & Day blew their lead.
3.5 - 2.5 would have been a moral victory, particularly with Tiger copping such a hammering.
        4-2 is a major disappointment.

Day didn't blow it Badds did. His drive on the last was a massive choke. Mind you didn't see his approach to the 18th green as channel 9 went to hot seat.

He hit a nice shot in.

Badds poor approach shot on 17 was the killer, hit it to 25 feet and the game is over.

Day gave him another chance on 17 by putting it to within 8 feet but Baddeley missed that for the win.

ITs becoming a reccuring theme with Sporting coverage. The big networks are simply being far to rigid with their programming schedules, particularly for the 'lead-in' shows to the news (Deal or No Deal/Hotseat).

And yet they kick up the biggest stink ever when it comes time for Government to review the anti-siphoning lists.

What about the drive on the 18th. Using a 3 metal he took more divot than when using a sand wedge.

Also Ogilvy who had played well all day, wacks his drive into the rough on 18. After his opponent had headed into the bush with his tee shot, all Ogilvy needed to do was keep it on the fairway.

With the wind picking up, scoring will be incredibly hard today. The greens are like ice so the wind is only going to make putting even harder.

Hopefully the internationals can rebound today with a number of local players.

                      Bubba Watson/Webb Simpson 2-up v Ernie Els/Ryo Ishikawa after 7

                      Tiger Woods/Dustin Johnson 1-up v Jason Day/Aaron Baddeley after 6

Phil Mickelson/Jim Furyk 2-up against Adam Scott /KT Kim after 5.

                      Bill Haas/Nick Watney 1-down Geoff Ogilvy/KJ Choi after 5

                      Steve Stricker/Matt Kuchar 1-up v E Yang/Robert Allenby after 4.

                      Hunter Mahan/David Toms 2-down Charl Schwartzel/Retief Goosen after 3

Aaron Badderly having another shocker today as well, maybe Norman regretting choosing him over Sendon.

Senden is almost the world's worst putter and would be nigh on useless out there.
