As a Reds supporter who doesn't have Foxtel, can someone who has watched a bit of them, tell me WHERE IT ALL WENT PEAR-SHAPED THIS SEASON?!! I mean to say... pre season there was all this talk about how well they had recruited blah blah..

They've been terrible for a big club for nearly 20 years.
This years crop of Downing ( average) Carroll ( most expensive drunk) and Charlie Adam ( started okay but is just an average midfielder who takes a nice corner!) Top it of they have an outdated manager, who doesn't cop any flak because he's a legend of the club.

TCD might be best to answer this.

IMO Kenny is their biggest problem, a very average manager and has to much say in which players are brought in.

They have gone alright in the cups though.

They are a big club Liverpool now no longer part of the "Big 4". Arsenal is dangerously moving out of the "Big 4" if they lose to Reading. Our teams Man Utd and Chelsea are still there along with Man City.

Arsenal have taken over from Liverpool as being the big club that's not a big club.

Liverpool have taken over from Everton as a club who used to be big and is struggling to even be in the top half of the table.

I believe Arsenal matches are on that channel as well Topdog. How come those two clubs are specifically on that channel?

I'm guessing One HD bought the club-specific broadcast rights from those two clubs.

Aye, though being such a tight league round the middle, if the Reds had managed to convert their first half hour domination into a few goals (familiar story so far this season) and beat Villa, they'd would have been almost nothing off fourth.

Up until yesterday, I didn't mind Liverpool's season - the loss to Vila stings badly.

Joe Allen was poor for two of their goals - and Gerrard (despite scoring) isn't in the greatest form, but a few minor tweaks can see Liverpool winning more consistently (another striker the priority)

Huge respect for Everton - in particular Moyes - for doing what he does with that budget

Pool fans must be happy ATM.

Top of the table, great young manager and Suarez signed up for 4 & 1/2 years and with a huge buyout installed into his contract.

Will be surprised if they don't finish top 4.

Same.

They are playing really well and that's without some key players in Gerrard and Sturridge. They don't have the depth as some of the other top clubs, but if their injury list remains manageable then I think they'll be fine.

It's good to see them back in the top four too.
