Arsenal may struggle there Chef; just accepted a bid from Manchester United for Robin van Persie.

Yeah, it was a toss up between them and Spurs for the last spot. But with AVB in control and losing Modric to Madrid(accepting 27.5 when they could have got 40 last year) I think Spurs will slide a bit more the Arsenal.

24m pound for a 29 year old injury prone striker who's got 1 year left on his contract. This is not a bad deal for Wenger, even though you would prefer to keep him. Songs apparently off to Barca too.

RVP doubles his wage from press reports. Man U are going to have a formidable strike force with RVP and Rooney.

Considering that the first offer from Fergie was 12m, that's a big turn around from Man U.

Dissapointed to lose Song, he was a big favorite of mine.

          Man U
          Man C
          Arsenal
          Chelsea

Although I wouldnt be suprised to see Man C implode and finish outside a European spot.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Without RVP, the Bulldogs might just pip Arsenal this season for goals scored, it'll be a close run thing though.

Frimpong's twitter response to RVP leaving........

              "God Forgives....I DON'T. Retaliation is a must.."

Frimpong would be well advised to delete his twitter account (especially after abusing that Tottenham fan) and concentrate on getting back onto the field. With Song gone there is a position waiting for him.

I like Frimpong and we need his aggression but baiting opposition players is a no win.

With superstars like Park and Chamack up front? Surely not! Maybe we could get Thierry back...

Anyway it all depends on how Podolsky goes. I also think that Gervinho will be better in his second season-he showed some good flashes last season and should be more confident/settled this season.

Otherwise it's back to "1-0 to The Arsenal, 1-0 to The Arsenal" If we can get any of our defenders out of the medical room and onto the park.

Very good signing for us (Man Utd) in getting Robin Van Persie to give us more firepower. I definitely think we can challenge Man City for the title as we lost it by barely nothing last season.

And you get Vidic back as well.

That is a big plus as well for us.

Cazorla and Giroud will be handy up front also.

I don't think RVP's lose is going to make that much of a difference.

Wenger knew RVP was out the door and recruited accordingly. It makes a mockery of Van Persie saying that he club wasnt recuiting players and that's why he wanted out. I think RVP painted himself into a corner-or his manager did-and there was no way back for him. At least we didnt wait until the season had started like we did with Cesc and Nasrri last year.

Rooney and Van Persie up front for us looks like a lethal attack but I'm not going to get to carried away just yet as I think Van Persie has to get used to gelling in the team and then once that happens he will be very good. Very much like Torres when we came to Chelsea.

What about the relegation battle. Who will struggle this year to stay in the EPL. Usually 1 or 2 of the newly promoted teams stay up.

Great piece of business from Fergie. in a very steamy Hong Kong and to say the world game is popular is an understatement . United will have to sell at least Berbatov you'd imagine .
