Agree. He really needs the runs. The selectors were looking at him as the T20 captain at one stage werent they?
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

        Re: Finch

Did I hear he will very likely be given an ACB contract?

In my opinion, if they aren't playing Shield Cricket then they shouldn't get contracts.
        ODI's and T20 cricket isn't that important.

Isn't that where the ACB make their money?

            Re: Finch

As an ardent supporter of his, not even I can make a sensible case for him getting a contract. Like other finge players that didn't perform at the top level, he needs to go back and make a convincing case for reselection.

How many contracts are they currently giving out? I remember hearing they were cutting back the number of national contracts and filtering that money back into state based contracts. Similar to the English county system.

I may be wrong but I think Finch would receive a contract due to the number of games played. Works on a points system whereby if you play enough games you automatically get a CA contract.

Which has little to do with what Finch has done to deserve a contract.

True, I was more responding to you saying 'ODI's and T20 cricket isn't that important'.

I guess it shows that all three forms are seen as equal nowadays, which is sad but T20 is the cash cow.

                      Re: Finch

In the international T20 against England the other day, Finch opened the batting for Australia and scored 156 of 63 balls. 14 6's, biggest ever international score, second fastest ton, and so on. Australia scored 259 off 20 overs.
