ODI Squad - Mike Hussey dumped

    Squad:

    Bailey as captain
    Cutting
    Doherty
    Finch
    Haddin
    Hughes
    D Hussey
    Khawaja
    Maxwell
    McKay
    Smith
    Starc

Apparently this squad was picked with the 2015 World Cup in mind. Makes Haddins selection a little ify. And a few restings, Mike Hussey getting dumped and denying him a farewell tour is poor form

Agree that its piss poor, two meaningless One Dayers and we don't have room for a guy who mastered the format better than anyone in recent memory? He deserves a farewell and crowd numbers will reflect the snub.

Apparently its not only to get Khawaja and Hughes into the squad but also to keep them out of the BBL, Micky Arthur used the word 'quarantine' as they feel is detrimental to development heading into India

I wouldn't have picked Mike Hussey given he won't tour

I have question marks on a few of the selections especially Smith given he can't bowl. I certainly would have had a look at Henriques and Faulkner.

Not sure why David Hussey and Haddin are in this squad considering we are supposedly picking for the future?

Couldn't agree more, it goes against what they're saying. You would hope both would be first out hen Pup, Warner and Wade are ready from their breaks.

Surely Paine would have been a better option than Haddin.
The NSW mafia get there "Boy" in the team.
Talking about the next W/C and they pick Haddin !

Paine in the ODI squad? Has he made more than 10 in any form other than T20 this year?

Could they talk Dirk Nannes into playing? He can seriously bowl, although being continuosly overlooked in the past may have burnt the bridges.

One could argue that he can't bat either.

                  Agree on the 2nd part.

Crowd numbers will be ordinary at the One dayers again this year.

The selectors don't pick the best team - so people lose interest in the format.

With regard to the Keeper position - surely a 25 year old Wade - who has opened and made runs in the format is a better option than a 35 year old Haddin.

What's the difference? Still limited over form of the game. Paine's coming off injury and is the next cab of the rank. If we're going to talk next World Cup then Haddin's selection is puzzling .

Does have good numbers this year as a batsman, average of 66 and a strike rate of 114 in the Ryobi this year

Its a big difference actually. Different forms of cricket.

We'll beg to differ. Both termed "small forms of the game"
