Test Matches - What have you preferred more this year?

15 days of tight test match cricket in which we lost one-nil.

    Or,

11 days of lopsided cricket in which there was no contest and Australia slaughtered the Lankans.

For me, I preferred 15 full days of intense competition. I hate tests finishing early especially as it did at the MCG. Winning isn't everything for me and I enjoyed the battle more than beating up cricket Minos.

If I was going to watch, it'd be the one dayers. It'd be best if the competition was tight, but that's sport.

Test matches against first tier nations are EASILY the best cricket offers.

This series wasn't that exciting as we really and thoroughly beat the Sri Lankans. The next two tests we have against India and England there might be more of a contest although the Indians as strong as they used to be. For the one day series who's the third team coming down.

As much as I hated it, Faf's knock in Adelaide. That's what Test Cricket's about, digging in, not giving up & making the bastards earn every wicket!

            Yep that was awesome.

A bit odd but my favourite knock of the summer was Kallis' 50 while injured in the 2nd test.

No doubt the South African series was a cracker while the Sri Lankans weren't great but I'm not a believer in a two tier system. The only way for these teams to improve is to compete against the big boys. I think the best option will be when the ICC gets its act together and the world championship gets up and running. Cricket desperately needs it

What do you think lemmon of the scheduling of the ashes to be only 6 months apart when it has mostly been 18 months apart. They definitely stuffed up the scheduling there.

That was because of the Olympic Games being held in London.

But how do the Olympics Games in London affect the scheduling now.

The series was supposed to be played in 2012 which means it's been pushed back. That is why we have back to back series.

The test series against Sth.Africa contained some very good & highly watchable cricket.

The test series against Sri Lanka was by and large of a poor standard and did nothing to get me interested in watching for anymore than short bursts.

The South African series for sure. Clarke, Faf and Kallis innings are what test cricket is all about. Watching Sri Lanka trying to play T20 cricket during test matches did nothing for me at all.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Personally I find the short form of the game not interesting.
Really disposable cricket you could say.
Test cricket fills the back pages, and don't start me on the dogs breakfast that is the Scheldue this season.

and also the series in Australia has been brought forward a year so as not to clash with the World Cup which is being held in Australia and NZ during the summer of 2014-15.
