Which game do You prefer T20 or 50 overs

T20 is becoming more and more popular whereas, the 50 over game is a bit clinical, or is it?

    Which format do you prefer?

I like Domestic 20/20 - I think the Big Bash League concept is great.

But at an international level I couldn't care less about the T20, but at least have a passing interest in the one dayers.

I would never go to an international T20 - but would go to a 50 over match.

20/20 is exciting and the batsmen really go for it. 50/50 is good too. It depends what teams are playing in which we will get a good match.

T20 is ok to watch on tv in a I don't really care who wins but it's something to have on in the background sort of way. I would never go to an international game, but used to go to some in the early years after work when they were played on week nights and entry was $10 (or originally a validated Metcard)

ODI's are a bit dull on tv and the never ending number of them renders them pretty irrelevant. It's not a bad format to watch live as you get a full day and see a result. That and there's only a handful in your home city each year.

I use to go in the 1980's to the ODI, especially when the Windies were out here. Watching Viv slog the ball all over the park and the quicks really firing them at the Australian batsman. Imagine Viv playing T20

These days I am with you on both formats.

I'm really struggling to get enthused about any form of cricket ATM.

To be honest I only like Test cricket and enjoy watching it. In my opinion the other forms of cricket are like the AFL Nab Cup compared to the season proper.

Yep, I used to be a bit of a cricket addict.

I enjoyed some of the SA series, but couldn't have cared less about the SL one. I find if a series doesn't involve India, SA or England than it's just not interesting, I'll try and watch the ODI's and T20's and see if I can get into them. I'm happy enough to just get my summer sports fix from Chelsea nowadays.

I must admit test cricket is the only form I am really enthused about. I can't wait till the ashes series next year. Would love to be in England at Lords.

Have to love test match cricket, nothing better than a pristine day, sparkling creams and a bright, red cherry. I don't mind the 50 over format, still think there is room for nuance and tactics. Close finishes still produce a very good spectacle. Not keen on the T20 format, games seem to be decided by luck more than anything, suits big hitters and dart bowlers, not the most skilled cricketers

It might sound silly but I feel like some of my enthusiasm for Test cricket has been lost with the retirement of Mike Hussey. Hopefully good series against India and England will pick it back up.

Do you think you might be suffering from a let down after the retirements and breakdown of that great Australian team of the mid '90s to the mid '2000s? I know I really wish we could have cloned the Waughs, Warne, McGrath, Ponting, Gilchrist, Hayden, Langer et al and kept them on the field forever.

Also I find myself endlessly frustrated with the lack of the selelctor's foresight.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

I used to love ODI's - some of my best Austrlaian sporting memories (WC's, Bevan magic etc) have been in this format - but it's almost like T20 has destroyed any interest I have for any result in a day format. Scheduling of the BBL has really turned me off, and the constant tinkering with the ODI format and the team also rankles.

I've always liked test cricket, but I love it even more now - probably not what the boffins behind T20 were after with the creation of that format, though I concede I'm likely in the minority.

Great analogy B4L, sums up my feeling exactly.

50 over game has been over analysed and strategize, 20/20 is , as my Dad would just say, shutty eye hitty hard.
IMO a 30 or 35 over concept would make both obsolete.
