    Warnes' Manifesto

Warneys taken the criticism of Cricket Australia off twitter and put together a little spiel about what he thinks should be done to fix Australian cricket (I wasnt aware we were in such bad shape). Basically he's advocated:
-Picking and playing our best team (something most of us will agree with) and giving them time to gel
-Sacking pretty much everyone in the current set up
    -Stephen Fleming as coach
    -Boof Lehmann as assistant
-Huss or Bevan as batting coach
-Merv Hughes or Bruce Reid as bowling coach
    -Mark Taylor as CEO
-Rod Marsh, Mark Waugh, Damien Martyn and Glenn Mcgrath as selectors
-Ian Chappell as some kind of consultant/adviser/mob boss

So in other words get rid of all and put in Warneys' mates. I think it may be time Shane quietened down a touch or he'll end up in the Neil Harvey basket.

There might be something to a few things Warne is suggesting but I'd like to hear the thoughts behind some of his reasoning.

I cant remember a time when the selectors were not widely criticized. It is our national sport and has a unique way of dividing opinion.

I think we could improve some things but in general I don't think Inverarity and Arthur are doing that bad a job. We are in better shape than when they took over anyway. Our fast bowling stocks have turned around and we have found some spirit again. We were a few bad innings and some luck away from taking the number 1 spot which would have been amazing with some of our weaknesses.

It is not all doom and gloom Shane. Putting all of your friends in positions of power is not the answer. Honestly some of the guys he listed are ridiculous.

Nothing will change in 2013. If we lose two ashes series in 12 months though...

You're not far off the mark, pretty spot on actually.

Firstly, anything that can get Chappel out of the commentary box would be a good thing for me!

As for the rest of it, I think Shane is showing a mixture of relevance deprivation and distance from the very elite of Australian cricket with his comments.

It's time for Shane to take his hand off it and enjoy his retirement, though I suppose he's not a very interesting person, and cricket is all he has. That being the case, he'd do well to completely sacrifice his time to learning all of the components of the current Australian national team set up and make qualified assessments rather than continually taking pot shots at topics he's not completely learned.

I didn't click on the link to his web page. I don't want to become a statistic that helps stroke his ego even further.

Perhaps being so short left my post being ambiguous. I was yawning at a has been calling for his mates to be selected, it's just white noise. Listening or reading this tripe makes me 'yawn'. So I do have an opinion and a comment to make.

Wasn't a coach something that should only take you to and from the ground?
                  According to Warnie.

Great post. I think Shane has an incurable case of relevance deprivation.
If he is going to make himself useful do some tutoring to our young spinners.

Fancy this bloke calling people Muppetts! He ois simply a nuff nuff and now believes that Australians believe his immature crap. He is becoming the cricket version of Anthony Mundine.

I wish he would just stay in England with his dumb brunette and leave his thoughts for the British media.

Warne is having a catch-up with Sutherland this weekend at the golf course to discuss the running of cricket in general. This is a positive move and not just talk behind a pen.
