We needed more runs in the first dig also.
Time to go back to basics with the batting.
The dominate the bowlers thought process is from a bygone era.
They're not good enough for that.

Nope. It's a new low IMO.

Who in Autralian batting stocks has excellent technique that can hold up against good bowlers in ordinary conditions?

Even our best bat in Clarke doesn't, but at least he's talented enough to keep bowlers out and score runs.

During our glory days we had bowlers that our bats could rely on to take the heat off them, but now we don't, and we're completely exposed because of that.
              TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

Why should all the pressure be put onto the bowlers? This is India, you aren't rolling teams for 200, onus on the subcontinent is to be batting big first up and make the opposition bat for 5 and 6 sessions to get onto par. Can't be blaming our unsuited set of bowlers in these conditions

Sorry, I'm not saying we should just rely on our bowlers.

What I was getting at was in previous teams our bowlers were so good they could cover for poor batting performances when they popped up. What we're seeing now is terrible batting supplemented by adequate (at best) bowling stocks.

Fully agree, perhaps not in the era between say 1996-2006 when we had a top 7 that was one of the best in cricket history but definitely post Hayden, Langer, Martyn, Symonds even Katich we had a very good bowler in Stu Clark, Mitch Johnson fired for a while, Brett Lee had a few very good seasons, and Doug Bollinger had an excellent international year or two, they papered over what was and continues to be a frail batting lineup. We never quite rebuilt when the mature guys came in and kept us competitive

I agree, and when we have had a good start with our batting, like 403 in the first innings, the bowlers weren't good enough to restrict India and therefore take the pressure off in the second innings.
