    65

To save time and money, the English trophy engraver should just do both series of the Ashes.

65, on the same pitch the opposition score 300+

    FFS.

In a 50 over Champions Trophy warm up match against India, you couldn't find a game that means less. Talk about baby and bathwater...

One perspective. The other would be fighting for their positions in the side, if not, playing for pride in their ability. The game was inconsequential i agree, however their performances were not.

As David Lloyd said last night, how much importance do you give warm up games? Zero.

There was no thread about the win we had over the Windies a few nights ago, or how the Poms have just lost their series to the Kiwis in games that actually counted. I couldn't have cared if the Aussie team bus had even made it to the ground last night, these games mean nothing. Saying give them the trophy after that I'm sorry but is nothing short of rubbish.

We agree to disagree. Yes the games are worthless. But with some fringe players fighting to secure thir spots and senior players looking for top line form, I expect better than 65 as the sum total of their ability and output.

Engraving the trophy may be sensationalistic, but it's made on more info than one game. I agree, to equate one loss with doomsday is rubbish. But if I was putting down money, I would be backing the poms all day every day. It's just the state of play as I see it. They seem to have more better players than us.
