Humorous wrong decision by the third ump

Wonder if they will get dropped.

Australia chasing 270, Stark confessed to many runs otherwise the bowling was pretty good

Well that wasn't really competitive in the batting, australia limped to Just over 4 runs an over, became a battle of just seeing the overs out in the end to avoid a big defeat, but it was probably a guide of where Australia is at the moment.

The Aussie batting was a snooze fest and the Champions Trophy is a cynical cash grab by the ICC.

          A complete waste of time.

Not sure it's a cash grab, it's in England, small crowds and it's 50 over not 20/20 , I beleive this is the last one so saying its a cash grab no one is obviously interested as you have just shown.

From day one its just been a tournament slapped together in between world cups to keep the continuous cycle of international short form cricket rolling along, primarily to cash in on sub continent tv rights. All under the guise of helping developing cricket nations.

Anyway, much better cricket minds than mine have weighed in on the topic and the consensus is that its about time this tournament was given the bullet.

I agree it needs to go, the middle overs are boring and really don't bring anything to the game, 20/20 is the go,it's not long thus younger kids won't get bored and number 2 it's the opposite to test cricket, so you have the extreme in both fast and slow.

I do have two worries though, one it has become more worth it for players to play 20/20 and it has also destroyed the value of keeping you wicket and learning the correct batting techniques.
Maybe I am old fashioned but test cricket is by far the most important and intriguing

I wonder if we'll look back and find that the IPL was one of the worst things to happen to game, both in terms of the integrity and quality of the sport.

Would not surprise me if we saw the IPL fall apart in the next few years. Even without the scandals its proving to not be viable

Is it making money in the subcontinent? That would be the key I would have thought. The players re making a mint so they're probably happy enough.

Tv viewership is way down, the franchises are losing money hand over fist, some are handing back their licenses, investment and advertising is down and will only continue with all the bad publicity, the BCCI is doing its usual backroom deals, they've lost Sahara as a sponsor, tension with Sri Lankan and Pakistani players...i think the competition is in deep trouble, agree that they will always have player support though

Seems like some writing is on the wall. Can't imagine the BCCI will hand back their power over the game in a hurry.

20/20 is great entertainment but it's a shame betting etc has destroyed it, must say for a laugh and a general fun thing I like the beach cricket they do.

Just to get this thread back on track Fair old game New Zealand V Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka only made 138 batting first, had the Kiwis 9 down chasing it though
