It's a completely different club now. I suppose heart haven't been around for too long yet but if it happened to victory or spurs I'd stop following them.

It's weird. It feels a little hollow and I'm not that enthusiastic about it atm. I feel like we got a little screwed with the whole colours thing and I think they'll be looking to gradually make the home kit more and more sky blue and phase out our original kit so I don't particularly trust the owners right now.

I feel like my loyalty has kind of been reset for the club, but I have really enjoyed going to the soccer and there aren't any other summer sports I'm interested in and I don't like Victory so I'll give City every opportunity to win me over. Besides as a Bulldogs supporter and Heart supporter I have clearly shown an aptitude at finding horrible sides to get enjoyment from so I can't really pass up the opportunity to follow what should be an awesome club.

I had thought there might've been a sneaky chance at red, white and blue. That as the happiest of happy mediums for a Digs fan!... So I'm a little bit flat about it! If they'd made the navy blue stripe red, I'd have been pretty pleased. As it is, it's now a completely different club.

Good stuff, was a quality player at one stage.

Look forward to see how he goes in Oz.

                  And underneath the cap too!!!

Our attacking players at the start of the season is going to include Villa, Duff, International marquee (rumoured to have been offered to guys like Lampard, Xavi etc.), Australian marquee (Kennedy, Bresciano etc.), Aaron Mooy etc.

Incredible. Slight upgrade on Michael Mifsud, king of the offsides.

Lampard to play for Melbourne City prior to joining the MLS. Similar to David Villa he will be playing 10 games before heading over to the US.

                      Soooooooooooo excited.

Would never have dreamed of getting to see Super Frank play down in Oz.

                        Re: A-League 2013/14

Victory have re-signed Milligan as Aussie marquee. I know it's not the type of signing that'll make the bandwagoners of the league jump for joy, but hopefully the joke that is Heart/City are just a team of champions and not a champion team.

Don't get me wrong, Lampard, Duff, Villa are great for the league, just not for the one club, and funded through a oil well or two. This league needs a solid foundation to build on year after year, not corporate greed and tricks.

Would have thought the league needs the bandwagoners, who could be turned into regulars when they like what they see.

10 years in, the bandwagoners have come and gone and come and gone. IMO you either like the football product that is the A-League or you don't. The weighted average across the the league to date is about where it'll be for the future.

I'm not so sure about that.

I think there is still a huge population of people who are interested in soccer to varying degrees that have yet to actually try the A-League.

I think there is still a view that the A-League is too inferior to the European competitions to be worth following, despite its constant improvement of standard. Hopefully these big name signings, while a bit gimmicky, will encourage the Eurosnobs to actually come down and try it and also garner some extra media exposure which isn't centred around small factions of the crowd.

From City's point of view I think the plan is to try and get the bandwagon running and then hopefully when Villa and Lampard leave have a strong enough squad that is used to playing with eachother to continue the probable good early season form.

                              They''re certainly attracting interest.

I'm one of those - been to a couple of A-league matches through corporate sponsors but never gone as a paid-up member. And I am a massive fan of the world game, you only need to see my blood-shot eyes right now

Definitely considering taking out a membership for City next season - at the expense of my Bulldogs AFL membership, such is my indifference to the wider AFL product right now. Will probably revert to a Bulldogs only membership so the club doesn't suffer.
