I found it a good chance to view our depth and watch some kids play who otherwise wouldn't. Still a decent trophy to win that can install confidence in the group, but not the end of the world if you don't.

I thought United may take it seriously as it's the only trophy within their reach at this point of the season.

You take it seriously at this stage, but top 4 is obviously the priority .
Look at West Ham sent out there kids at Forest and got thumped.
Unfortunately the two knock out comps have lost their prestige.
