Fact is though every day that Rooney doesn't sign his value diminishes. SO yes, he is playing well currently, but if he doesn't sign he will be plying for someone else for nothing (ah la Van Persie). Man U wont allow that to happen, especially when they can get someone like Juan Mata for him.

I think you mean Lewandowski(who Bayern are getting for nothing) , not RVP who Arsenal cashed in for £23mil when it became apparent he wasn't extending his contract.

If Rooney hasn't extended by the summer you would think the Glazers will want to cash in.

Gee if I had a quid for every story concerning United I could retire comfortably.
It's Collingwood multiplied by 100, and some of its complete dross to be honest.
                Who knows ?

Probably right, and it's reported the Glazers are giving Moyes 200 million to spend.
British press so who knows if it's factual or not!

As long as they offer comparable wages and transfer fees United aren't going to struggle to find replacements for the prima donnas in the squad.

While its fun to laugh at Uniteds plight, I cant see it lasting too long.

Fergie got this sort of press too in his first 12 months in the job.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

                          He did.

He inherited a team that was 4th last and with players who would turn up to training still half cut. Changed the fabric of that club.

Can they offer those without the CL? Their value on the stock exchange dropped 12% in December wiping 220m pounds off it's value.

I guess we're going to find out, are the Glazers going to dip into their own pockets, not worry as much about profits and chase trophies or just run the club to make as much money from it as they can.

Bayern Munich missed CL football a few seasons back, they spent big that summer and hit the ground runnning and haven't looked back since.

Apparently all players will get a 25% pay cut if there's no CL football.

United will still attract good players even if they don't make c/L.
Attracting the best players might be difficult, but being one of the biggest clubs in the world will help.
